  1. I've been in two minds about getting one of these as I'm not convinced about the lift off body section.  I have the Dapol 59 001 which I'm pleased with, but thought I'd take the plunge and purchase 59101 – Heidelberg Materials.  Will be interesting to compare.

  2. A question for anyone that's received their Dapol Class 59 (I know people are raving about the RevolutioN 59, I'm still not convinced by the look of the removable body section), especially 59 001, have you got an NEM coupling on one end?  Mine has arrived with 2 full air dams and no coupling.  Is this a factory mistake with mine or are they all like that?  Thanks.

Interesting to see a second run of GWR 158's, I am pretty sure the first run still haven't arrived yet!

I'm guessing pre-orders may have been good.  I think it's due in the next few weeks.  A bit disappointed that a TfW 158 hasn't been announces, I guess the Arriva Trains Wales one will have to do for now.

  4. Had an interesting (well to me anyway) thought.  When it comes to distribution of models to shops is there any particular order they are sent out from the manufacturers warehouse?  I've noticed some shops get models a good few days before others.  For example, 374-740 MK2F TSO NETWORK RAIL has been available since Friday in some shops but yet to appear in others?

  5. I believe the TfW 769s are bi-mode (diesel and 25 kw overhead), however as they don't venture under the wires the pantographs have been removed for maintenance purposes.  It's very odd travelling on them, if you travel in the motor car it sounds exactly what you would expect of a 319 (as you can't hear the diesel engines under the driving trailers).

  6. Slightly off topic, and I may have noticed this especially on this occasion as I'm waiting for my TfW 769 to be dispatched, is the Bachmann supply chain, I guess not all retailers can have them at the same time by the one I've ordered it from is still advertising a big delivery soon when most appear to already have the recent Farish delivery in stock.  Just an observation and waiting in anticipation for my TfW 769. to arrive.

I’ve given mine a thin air brushing of dirty black on the coach ends and roofs. It’s quite subtle but it takes that white unpainted plastic look away.

What can I say, amazing!  The weathering does make a big difference to the white ends.

    Nice layout as well!

  8. I've had a look through all of the comments and not found an answer to my question.

I've just bought an N gauge Class 68 from a certain auction site (seller said only taken out of box to test).  It runs well but the coupling (it only has one on one end which is as I believe was the case when new, the other being in the detailing bag) doesn't seem to swing on corners causing the first coach to derail.  Has anyone else had this issue and is there a cure?

    Thanks.
