  1. Writing this just after the 2 mins silence - what the hell do any of these "errors" matter REALLY - it's a RTR Baby Deltic which we've never had before - in shape and looks - move on !!

    HearHear!

However I can understand where the critisism over errors comes from,,and everyone is welcome to their own opinion of how much detail and shape prototype errors they are willing to.accept.

Personally the points mentioned above are niggling but I wont notice when they run!

Out of interest id be curious to see the reaction of a few gents.on here to the Australian 38 class steamer released by eureka models which has parts less.accurate than the old lima model and for about 400 quid!

I'm looking forward to seeing tbe BD in the flesh, hopefully the detail probs are limited to the mentioned points.and not.body shape like one of our recent L/E diesels here

  2. I should hope they have - comparing prices

    845.00 AUD = 538.36 GBP

    Hattons GBP 199

If I recall correctly the Eureka one started off at around 500 $AU when it was first being advertised and deposits (with a guaranteed price) were being taken in September/October 2004 - a lot can change between what Hattons announce now and whatever currency variations and tax changes might bring (but it still sounds like a bargain).

Wow this really came out of nowhere... It'll go brilliant with my kitbuilt U1 :yahoo:

As for the Eureka Garratt a couple of the gents in my SA model club have examples, not a bad little unit. I don't know if the sound equipped version if its accurate given I've only seen them run at our exhibition! (noise was dulled considerably by the din...) And yes its definately out of my price tolerance range for HO models, even the Blue Pullman will be cheaper! And I have the feeling that we wont be waiting anywhere near as long for the LMS Garratt as we do over here for our steamers....

Incidentally I liked the archive pic in one of the hattons listings, I hadnt seen the revolving bunkers open like that before.

  3. So 7011 carried the apple-green livery. Ive been thinking of repainting a GWR loco in one of the 1948 oddities to go with my purple A4, apple green 'Royal Scot' and my dark blue Bulleid (with red racing stripes)

Nice to see a GWR Castle not the BR version. Though the tender looks so small compared to the big Hawksworth on my 'Great Western'!
