I am starting out with a smallish end to end layout.
I previously has a 6m by 3m round the wall layout on which I used cork tiles as underlay to give the rails that raised look.
However, with this current layout it is going to be a TMD and so raised track might look a bit odd.
I'm thinking of buying 3mm fibre underlay and laying over all of the baseboard.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan? I don't really want to lay directly onto the ply baseboard.

I'm having my garden renovated and am thinking of having a small railway in the corner. I would say I probably have about 3m x 6m to play with.
A few years ago I saw a really nice garden railway in OO which was just two simple lines. The chap had built a brick rectangle (like a raised flower bed) and had sunk the track bed into this raised bed.
I would like something similar. Doesn't have to be complicated. No points, just two continuous loops.
Anyone know or seen anything similar so I can gather some inspiration? I think it was in a Model Rail garden special but was a good few years ago now.

Morning.
Wife is up early over the following few days as the County Show is on in sunny Haverfordwest West Wales. If anyone on here is in wales, my wife will be on S4C either tonight or tomorrow night. She is a hairdresser and one of the clients is being followed by a camera crew as she gets ready for the show.

The blue 60 near the top of this page Interspersed with 66s both singly and in pairs, and a period a month or so ago with a 59.Prior to a 60 returning in the last week or so to Margam, it had been solid GM haulage since late last year

How can I find out when the train passes through a station or a certain point on the route that its visible. Theres a few in the area but short of camping out all day near the refineries I'm at a loss. On a clear summer night the train is quite loud and we are a good couple of miles away.

So what has been pulling the oil trains from Milford Haven? Haven't seen it for a while but last time I saw it passing Haverfordwest station it was being pulled by a very dog eared 60 in Loadhaul livery.

How to lay underlay?

Thinking about it, I will get cork sheet again.
So does it sound like the best approach to lay across the whole of the baseboards?
