  1. Hi Mike, good start. Have you decided on a track plan yet? How are you planning to raise the base to span the rail between the two boxes? I assume the scenic/ off-scene split is around 3ft/ 1.5ft. An APA box is about 27 inches I think. Good luck with the build.

  2. Julian, I think this a fantastic layout that is truly inspirational. I have a few questions, if you don't mind. Do you operate any kind of timetable? What do you do about loco release, without a run-round? What made you decide to have points in your fiddle yard, rather than have a traverser or sector plate? Does the fiddleyard design cause you any limitations, operationally?

  3. 'A new timber flow, operated by Colas Rail, will commence operation on Wednesday December 7th 2011. Trains will run twice weekly to and from Teignbridge on the Newton Abbot to Heathfield line, and the contract will run for three years.'

The News above was reported on the SWRG forum today. Times are not available yet.

  4. I've been toying with the same idea after I saw a picture of Brimley halt on the Moretonhampstead branch. I've looked at loads of pictures of other halts since, throughout Devon and Cornwall. Which one to choose is the problem. I'd just use it to practice scenic techniques and try something different. It would be great if it was operational too, even though it would be so small.
