  1. Hi Richard I was just looking at 4 VGA's I built from Kits, probably 35 years ago now, which are sitting on my layout, I couldn't remember the name of the maker and you have reminded me that they are Roy Gould kits, thanks for that. Time for them to go, the will be on ebay this weekend if its an 80% off week. cheers Bob
  2. I just received an Invoice from Accurascale for the class 66 I ordered last year. when I go to Project Status it says still in production and hasn't even reached the boat from China, doesn't seem right to me. Could be a scam. Beware. Bob
  3. I just received an Invoice from Accurascale for the class 66 I ordered last year. when I go to Project Status it says still in production and hasn't even reached the slow boat from China, doesn't seem right to me. Could be a scam. Beware. Bob
  4. Thanks very nuch for all your replies really helpful. Cheers Bob
  5. Hi does anyone recognise this Loco/Truck, it was donated to my club but does not have a manufacturers name or description. Its H0 gauge and runs ok. cheers Bob
  6. Hi I don't know if this question has been asked before my apologies if it has. Does the GBRF 66 66779 Evening star model come with Bells at both ends, because Bachmann chose not to fit them on their model even though they showed them on the original advert. Bob
  7. Hi Just thought I would mention that Hattons have class 66 axel boxes at £1 each (I just received 4) but I couldn't find them on the website except for a pack of 6 which it seems is not available, I had to call to find out they have them. cheers Bob
  8. How about this, Hattons class 66 in G&W Orange Livery still for sale at Hattons for £119. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374090396202?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11010.m1951.l7533&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=e57072d1f6e84133853756cff45c802c&bu=43130414298&ut=RU&osub=-1~1&crd=20220529065504&segname=11010&sojTags=ch%3Dch%2Cbu%3Dbu%2Cut%3Dut%2Cosub%3Dosub%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid. If you wanted one of them surely the first place you go to is Hattins website.
  9. Hi I recently made a small office building for my clubs layout and finished in painted render seen in photo. for that I used silver sand sprinkled on to PVA coated card and painted with what ever colour artist acrylic you want. The Works Acrylic is a good price. For a realy smooth finish you can glue fine sandpaper on to the card and paint. cheers Bob
  10. Hi Douglas Photoshop can be a nightmare sometimes specially if like me you only use it occasionally, you have probably done something that you normally don't and haven't noticed it. I can load a Jpeg 2000 into Photoshop and convert to Jpeg as you normally do. Jpeg 2000 is also called jp2. My advice is to save to the desktop as jpeg 2000 using save as. (The original TIF will not be altered). Close Photoshop. Find file on Desktop (which may be .jpf). If the icon has a blue PS then click on it to open in Photoshop, if not then right click on it and select `open with` and scroll through the dropdown menu More Apps to find Photoshop Photoshop will open, then try save as, Jpeg should then be there. It worked for me. You could also search google for a free converter. Sorry it’s a bit long winded. Bob
  11. Hi Beware, this week is one of Ebays special offer weekends £3 max fees. But it is only different from a normal week when you sell for More than £21 inc postage which is the point whery things get better. Anything lower than £21 then the fees are standard 12.8%+30p. They are trying it on. Bob
  12. I Love the effect, do you let the acrylic dry before the white spirit attack. Bob
  13. Hi Ianp Try this link its pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9ALdmDLPGU Bob
  14. Many years ago when I decided to go DCC and get rid of all of my stock which was mostly Lima Loco’s & Wagons. I was offered stupid money at a swapmeet so decided to give Ebay a try. I put 45 items on and sold the lot for triple the swapmeet traders offerings, It was an absolute nightmare, I hadn’t thought it through II never had enough packaging and had to go to Tesco & Sainsbury’s on a Sunday afternoon and scrounge boxes and I find somewhere open to buy Tape. Me and the wife were at it for ages (packing) and then came the Post Office Queue. I am better equipped now and use Ebay a lot, I have a policy, all of my stock is on my layout so if I want to buy something new I have to sell something to make room (nothing in boxes) mostly I sell on special offer weekends. I would never sell any other way except maybe Gumtree, but models don’t seem to sell well on there but it’s handy for bigger items, furniture etc and its free. Bob
  15. Quite right the colours did change, but unfortunately as per usual we are the only country that sticks to that code, actually Black is a live colour here now together with Grey & Brown.
