  1. Don't know if this (5 years ago) is current enough but Charlie from Chadwick Model Railways has posted a couple, one being here.
  2. Sorted. In the end rather than try and sort out the latching I changed it with CV63 with the NCE. Figuring I am more interested in setting one level than changing it anytime so would rather have the mute still functional. So now it is much quiter in what is quite a small room. Thanks for the help though.
  3. I will try that today. I managed to screenshot the bit I needed from the Dynamis manual so will see how that goes. Thanks.
  4. Yes it does but it is latched so only mutes the sound and will not lower it. It is F19 on this one but alas unable to do anything but mute.
  5. This function is on 19. I will plug it in tomorrow and have a go. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
  6. Ah I did sort of suspect that. Can you on a Dynamis by any chance?
  7. Thanks for that. I cannot find a list of cv's even online. I will have a look at that remembering to make a note of the cv first so I can revert it if it does something daft. Funny thing is there is the option of mute or level but no idea how to change latch to trigger.
  8. I have searched on here and Google to no avail so hoping someone on here may know the answer. I recently prurchased a Bachmann Class 47 SFX sound fitted and while it is a fantastic model in all apsects the sound is just too high for my small room. I see from the function list that F19 is either Mute on latch or Volume on Trigger. I am operating with an NCE Powercab and F19 only works on Mute. So how do I manage to operate the Latch function to change the volume please?
  9. Thanks for the replies and link folks miuch appreciated. Seems like I need to wait a bit for a 153 though.
  10. Have you a link for this list please? When I look on the web site none of the new stuff is mentioned at all. I accept it could be a cookie problem my end of course.
  11. Having been out of the hobby for a number of years now back and wanting to buy stuff Derails were my obvious choice. My first order was delivered on day 2 of the 2 - 7 day time frame so I was very happy with that. Also emails to advise and update helped plan when to be in. My second order (small) seemed to get lost in the system so only one email. I sent a question to them to ensure the items were being delivered and received a reply from Dan almost immediately. It would appear an email from Derails is missing in space (it happens) and Dan assured me that the goods were being delivered to them that day so would be sent on when they had them. Since email received to confirm posted. This order was realtively small and I initially thought about not asking about it but their emails do say to reply if you have any questions. I was pleased to receive a prompt reply with a positive result and find that the level of customer service is as good as I recall. Well done Dan and Derails.
  12. As interesting as all this talk of The Services is, back to Classic cars. Not certain if I missed this in here but thought I would mention it anyway. Anglia car auctions last time sold a renovated Bond Bug for £29,160! Not that I have watched it all as it is over 3 hours worth of Youtube video including it here.
  13. Yes they had twin twin choke carbs. Lincolnshire Police had a couple as Traffic Patrol cars in the Skegness Division. I never drove them but talking to the lads (and lasses) who did they were stupidly quick while they were in tune which due to the fitters we employed wasn't very long!
  14. That does not mean any part though. Reason you are allowed to clear the junction is to make it clear for other traffic. I would be interested where you got 'your' definition of any part of the vehicle from. Perhaps you have case law that indicates that. I can tell you having been PC Copper with a Mk 1 eyeball I wouldn't even consider pulling a motorist for that. I can also tell you that when I was being trained to drive buses this was discussed at some length and had I or any other driver on test stayed in the junction having crossed the line with the front of the vehicle where I was blocking the junction I would have failed. Obviously we are not talking about Box junctions at any point.
  15. Once you had passed the green light and was in the junction waiting for traffic to clear it is legal for you to drive off to clear it even though the repeater signal shows red. Often had to do it when bus driving otherwise would have sat at some junctions for hours.
  16. I have to admit in all the time you have been talking about the Murano I never had a clue what it was nor looked. Having seen that I realise that was a mistake on my part.
  17. Saw this Big Jim and thought of you. Very good review of the Nissan Murano.
  18. I too thought Quay Wharf (?) was really good modelling but then if you did hours at an exhibition with it like I did one day you would realise how bloody annoying those seagulls were!
  19. You may not need telling what to do come to that I don't believe I do but I can assure you that many out there do. Whilst bars and restaurants here are closed that hasn't stopped a group of Ex Pats who are in some social media group from arranging to meet at each other's homes so they can continue their banal conversations whilst getting pissed. Not understanding that any of them could have been at risk while out at the supermarket or whatever and are now risking the rest of them. As for spraying the parcels with antic bacterial spray before you open them why not just use gloves, dispose of them after or wash your hands properly after touching anything that enters the house? Good idea for the thread Neil. It is well known that some are less able to cope with pressure than others and if this thread gives those a chance for the to discuss concerns then it will have proved it's worth.
  20. Well if it helps you sleep Neil I was Mod5 but then again some of the numbers were reused!
  21. I cannot recall when I actually joined but it was certainly quite early on. I think I can best be described as an armchair modeller but am not offended by the description. Over the years tempted by excellent work shown on the forum I have had numerous attempts at layouts in 00, 0 and G all of which failed dismally but nevertheless I enjoyed them while they lasted. Like Beast I too was a Mod and can identify with all he says about that role. I can honestly say from my time in that role that Andy has achieved results that most would have given up on long ago. Since the start it has been constant battles with server changes, forum layout changes and the associated moans and groans of the many adverse to change. I am delighted that through all that Andy and now Warners have stuck to it as it is without a doubt beyond anything we could ever have hoped for all those years ago. Whilst I don't model at all now I constantly come back on here to read and admire the work of others and very occasionally post in the Old cars thread. I am grateful for all the contributors who have also made the place what it is today. I have no one thing I can say that stands out over the years other than when Andy and a group of the Mods were invited to the home of Dave Shakespeare to see Tetley Mills. I knew and worked with Dave in the 70's in the Police in Sleaford. I visited him and his layout on more than one occasion and I think it was a sad day when the modelling World lost Dave. We have lost many others over the years as well but I am sure they are remembered fondly and on here their images and work remain for us to enjoy. So I too would like to thank Andy for all his work over the years which I know at times have been very difficult. Andy and I are close friends and see each other whenever my wife and I return to the UK. As a result of that I would also like to express thanks to the long suffering Wendy who has managed to cope with all of the above on a daily basis for the 15 years as well. Truly a remarkable woman whose tolerance has without been tested on numerous occasions. Without the members contribution of course the forum would not exist so thanks to all.
  22. I agree entirely. It was a very tongue in cheek comment. I once parked a Chrysler 180 on a steep gradient in Lincoln Police Station car park whilst on a driving course. We all adjourned to the canteen where not long later someone came in and enquired if it was our car. When the answer was yes we were told with a massive grin that it had rolled down the hill into the CID car parked opposite. So we went out and checked and sure enough it had done but not a scratch on either car as it rolled so slowly that it had not gathered any speed in the short distance. Apparently it had just had new brake pads fitted and they were not grippy enough yet to hold it on a hill. Still had to fill out loads of forms though.
