I found the roof nice to build & roll thow it was a tight fit between the ends when i build the all 3rd i will build the roof 1st so that the roof will fit better
hers the pics
this afternoon i have been working on a set of etches from 247 Development for a Highland Railway
heres what you get from 247
well i had a brass chassie which with a bit of triming fits this needs to be 184mm long
i have built up the body without its cast fittings & the chassie still needs truss rods & it castings fitting which i hope to get done tomorrow which i got from 247
with the etch you get a roof which needs rolling i will also do this tomorrow
the bogie are from 247
well one of the jobs i did today was to finish off the Comet kits kit No W46 of the Dia F24 slip coach
I have found this as with all the other Comet kits i have built a nice kit to work on with no problems though i did replace the seating from the kit with southern pride seats
Well today i have managed to finish off the Highland TPO so it ready for painting the Mail dropoff Equipment & net will be fitted after painting
After rolling the roof i fitted it along with the roof lights which needed the ends filling wich i managed to do with low melt solder I also made the end steps plus fitted the end grabrails
the truss rods were made up from .7mm wire & some split pins the rest of the chassie detail was then fitted all of this is from 247 Development
I have made this coach so that the chassie is bolted on to the body to aid painting
This is now sat on the radiater drying so it can get a coat of primer tonight then it will be painted over this week
Next on my work bench is a 247 developments Kit for a GWR Dia L23 lot 1503 a twin pick up Post Office Stowage Van
Today i have made a start on a 5522's kit for a Midland 12 wheel 1st class Dining car dia0571
So far i have built most of the chassie brasswork apart from the solebar steps
After lunch i hope to get the rest of the chassie done & make a start on the body
Well i have had some fun with the chassie
1st the solebars etch for the fold was not wide enough to be folded so i had to wided it it out al so the solebar steps markings were in the wrong place this info has been past on to Errol
The next job is 4 Southern Pride Mk1's 3of which have brass sides & one with per-printed sides
a Dia 32 Booth Car
a Dia 32 Griddle Car
a Dia 79 Lounge 1st
& the pre- printed Dia 72 open 1st
All to be finished in BR blue/gray livery & today i have painted the coach ends blue & made a start on the 1st chassie which is for the Dia 72
Also today i have given the GWR TPO a coat of GWR Cream paint
A Today as well as painting the Highland TPO I am making a start on a GWR Dia L23 TPO from the 247 Developments range
Heres what you get in the box i am going to be replacing the etched Gangways with 247's cast ones
now off to switch on the iron
I have been given a part built Module that a member OF CRM now does not have time to finish here are some pics
Behind the coaches is a strip of land that i am thinking of putting a row of timber building on
If anyone has any ideas as to what else i can do to it please say
Having look at the last lot of photos i have put some palm trees between the truck & church to fill the gap till i get time ti build the wall as the next jobs i have to do is wire this up & put the track links on the other ends of the fiddleyards
well at the Huddersfield show i built up the next coach for the layout a Jubilee 1st built from Bill Bedford etchs & 247 Development parts over the weekend i got all of the soldering done now all i have to do is build up the seating & paint the coach
Tonight this Gentlemen was seen getting off the last train of the day asking if any one had seen Binky ??
one of the jobs this week is a Martin Finney LSWR low roof van kit Dia 1410 & as i do not normally build wagons i have put this build in My Blog
so far i have got the chassie to a rolling stage & there are 26 parts to it
the build is taking a lot longer than it takes me to build a coach as the kit Can build to any of 3 Diagrams which can have any of 5 brake types & 2 axle boxes so just finding the part takes longer than fitting it
the one i am building is to dia 1410 fitted with morton brakes & panter axle boxes
Today I am working on a Steve Beattie Diesel kit of a Baby Deltic with head code box
the instructions are not warth the paper there printed on
I will not have to build the skelinton as it was sent to me all ready built
Today i am working on the bogies & will give a update later
