I can only echo the above.
It just goes to prove that you don't need a massive huge show for everyone to have a great time.
It really did feel like a club show, it was that friendly and relaxed.(although not for the staff that looked after us all day many thanks!)
Well done Andy for organising a great show, your pupils can give you a gold star now.
Someone did mention about why it wasn't on for two days!!!!!!!!
Look forward to next year if you will have me.
Cheers

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the comments.
I'm really not too sure what to do!
I actually thought about removing the back scene and putting the grass down front and back with trees virtually everywhere just to break it all up a bit.
I was trying to find a way to do this without using a back scene at all, as when I try and use them they always seem to look wrong!
I will get some more grass sheet and cover the back of the layout and see how it goes.
I really should have got a photo with a train on it, to give it some scale, will try and get another photo with a loco on.
It's quite hard to tell but it's over 350mm from the ground to the top of the aqueduct.
Cheers

Hi Rich,
I've just noticed that there are no pics of the the gang on the layout, I can't find the one where they are all lined up in the new large station building so you can see these two instead!
I really must get the photos of mansfield from my dad, I really don't get much time to do anything
Cheers

They look very nice Ian.
Nice sharp crisp edges, the bigger gauge would probably make it a bit easier or your just a perfectionist!
Look forward to seeing it finished........in time for Mansfield 5 days time?
-
So what about the T gauge version?
Your being a very silly person, although I have tried, trying to build the models in T-gauge is a nightmare!
Need to look at a different way of doing it.

Thankyou for the kind comments.
I hope it does go down a treat, I have actually been asked to take both Wold's end's
The OO and N-gauge layout.
Should look quite strange, odd or even good seeing them next to each other, both almost identical.
I just thought it might be nice for anybody new to the hobby to see just what difference the scale makes and having two layouts almost identical next to each other was a good way to show it.
Cheers

I'd think it will go down a treat at the exhibition, it looks excellent in the images you've been posting. -
Thanks for the info, I will be putting 'goods' on the platform/dock area of the warehouse, I have to fit the doors yet, although they will be in an open position.
I just need something to go behind the windows, can really only be paper as it's only 1mm from the backscene.

WOW!!
My micro layout is way smaller and taking way longer.
Nice work.

Is the traverser only big enough for one coach or am I mis-understanding the first set of photos?
Anyway - looks a nice little concept, and well executed so far
I'd suggest perhaps using a lighter sky background behind the station - the sky behind the warehouses (I know are being replaced - although they look great!) is probably more realistic then that behind the station.
When will it be set?
Hi James,
Yes the traverser will only hold one coach, a small suburban one at that.
I did it this way to keep within a certain size, it will also make it very challenging to move things about.
The sky has been changed for a lighter one....more by me making a hash on the first atempt.
I don't set any of my layouts to era or area, I run what I like the look of, on this though I could use all small steam shunters or take them off and just use diesel ones.
Other than that it will be run anything.
Thanks for the comments so far.
Cheers

Your pic of the overall roof looks very atmospheric. What brick paper are you using?
Hi Colin,
Just using the standard red brick paper that you can select when you buy the kit.
I've seen a picture of the N-gauge station building in stone and that looks very nice as well.
Cheers

At least I wont let the side down as I will probably be doing more than sticking the last bit of texture down at the show!!
Looks very good Ian
