  1. Once the power car is up and running it will be back to buildings! The Hotel / Bristol cars showroom building needs some TLC so I’m going to take the opportunity to clad it in brick plasticard. The temporary stand in building at the south end of the layout will get replaced with something similar but larger.
  2. Kensington Olympia is now back in its room, all bolted up and powered up without any issues. The five unpowered cars of the 6B got a run to see if any coaches fouled each other on curves. A RMB was also added with traction supplied by a class 25 propelling it at decent speeds around the layout, without issue.
  3. Yesterday saw the last run of the season for the Scarborough Spa Express. I managed to capture it on its return to Carnforth with Galatea / Sierra Leone / Alberta up front as usual.
  4. …….so instead we went to food festival at Malton and then across to Gilling for the Mainline running weekend.
  5. This morning the baseboards in the garage returned to their usual home. Not attached as yet…..I need to tidy up a bit….OK quite a lot!……….
  6. John Atkinson who knows everything DEMU has confirmed no curtains in the TFK……they were pull down blinds. The TRB does however have curtains. Photo courtesy of JKA.
  7. The powered DMBS just needs the bodyside doors inking in, then it might be time for a test run.
  8. The unfinished DMBS gained its handrails and with along with the rest of the second class accommodation also gained its orange curtains. I’ve no photos that definitely show any curtains in the TFK, probably due to it being all compartments with a door to each one, they might just be tucked back out of sight. The Buffet also seems to be sans curtains from my photos but I’m having it confirmed by the DEMU Oracle. Another job completed today was adding couplers to the bogies that didn’t have any……and finally I’ve trial fitted the motor coach PCB to the motor block and it looks like I can get the body on without surgery to the PCB!
  9. Also available a re run of the Ripponden wagons in n gauge using the old PECO chassis and body and a 60th anniversary wagon using the new PECO chassis and 16t tippler body, again in n gauge.
  10. I think up to D8127 they were all disc fitted, from D8128 not delivered until 1966 they were headcode box fitted and delivered in BR Blue.
  11. Some other photos of stock from the Bachmann display today. Thanks to Richard and Ron for a great day. The n gauge Thompson coaches and the c37 arrived in stock today too…Along with three more c40 variants.
  12. There are no other reps area specials of the c20. Confirmed by the Bachmann staff themselves.
  13. The uprights are now bolted to the legs…so all done. Once I tidy up the layout room the boards will come back indoors for the first time since the NGS show in May! The last photo is of the lighting used. It came from TLC electrical.
  14. The motor coaches gained their windscreen wipers today………they are so small you can barely see them so I’m not bothering with a photo………just handrails to add to one of the motor coaches then I’ll start to join them up and get the powered car up and running.
  15. …and we don’t know what it is either…………
  16. PECO had some samples at our anniversary event yesterday.
  17. PECO had undecorated samples at the Monk Bar Modelshop 60th birthday event. I should have taken some photos.
  18. The NGS plaque came off without too much of a fight…..a little paint needed. After stripping off the double sided tape I then mounted it on the RH end facia with contact adhesive. …..then realised that it would foul bolting on an end panel………..so after I cleaned off the contact adhesive with some white spirit, it’s been moved round the corner to the RH side of the layout . I think this is a good compromise as the layout won’t be leaving home very often.
  19. Seems OK, but some nice mirrored sunglasses for each operator could be a style thing!
  20. Good point, it has a self adhesive backing which may take the paint off though.
  21. The lighting rig is all bar done. Bottom of the uprights need their second coats of paint and the bolts need fitting. First picture is in a dark garage with the layout lights on. The second all lights are on.
