  1. An update on M and S…..now with interior and the external walls are now glued in place.
  2. An up to date photo of the tin shed. …..and M and S now has its interior and the walls are now glued on to the carcass.
  3. I had one driving lesson in the Reliant Supervan with my mum. First and last time I ever swore at her it so frustrating to drive. kangerooing around Bevendean Industrial estate one Sunday morning. I use Krystal Klear for windows, front screen will probably be clear Plasticard.
  4. I can confirm that the older bodies and fuel tanks fit the new chassis. Thanks to davebem for doing the donkey work on this. A two minute job to swop the lot. So my 47555 becomes sound fitted. It had a good run around the long DCC layout at the Yorkshire area NGS meeting today. Excellent sounds.
  5. NGS Christmas meeting today so mince pies and trains. I took 47555 along, this now has the new sound fitted c47 chassis. A two minute job to swop bodies and fuel tanks over from the new RES liveried model. 47555 performed faultlessly and made a great noise with its 9 coach train. I also largely finished the M and S building, just the window dressing to add before the walls are glued to the carcass. The tin shed also had its windows added and other than a bit of weathering is now finished. Pictures to follow.
  6. As per this old family photo….Whitecliff Bay holiday park, IOW.
  7. It was…….Just next to the back entrance to the station. We got in with room to spare on Friday, Saturday lunchtime couldn’t even get in the door!
  8. The tin shed has gained a roof and some paint. Still lots more to do.
  9. While we were away in Copenhagen Sister Tamworth has taken delivery of her new stead……but some b****** has nicked all the glass and painted it red! It will gain windows and be repainted Pale Blue, same colour as my parents car EPX976C.
  10. Can the earlier fuel tank set up be attached to the new chassis? If yes then I can see a lot of body swooping going on.
  11. Just back on Sunday from a few days in Copenhagen. Not much train stuff but did a few journeys on the driverless Metro and we did avail ourselves of the refreshments available in the “Railway Pub”. There was more snow (and fog) at Leeds when we landed than in Copenhagen which had almost nothing.
  12. http://www.1s76.com/1S76 1984.htm You’ll need to scroll down the page a bit…….Class 50029 at Leeds working the 1400 to Brighton….yes such a train existed…..portion from Hull attached at Sheffield.
  13. From Mondays visit to Haxby. Great Miniature Rail Journeys with Michael Portillo St Enodoc….. PS The Minions didn’t help much!
  14. I had a play test run in the shop of one of the sound fitted class 47s yesterday…..and it was great…very impressed. Shame about the choice of liveries….but will hope that there are more to come.
  15. Kensington Olympia had some RMweb visitors today with St Enodoc(left) and Barry O(right). After a convivial lunch at the Black Horse in Wiggington it was back to play trains for a bit.
  16. The grey on my 6B DEMU is actually Tamiya grey primer. I did not bother using rail grey as it was close enough for me. Rail Blue sprayed over the top then gloss varnish, decals then finally satin varnish.
  17. Thanks to all those who attended, looks like attendance was up about 12% on 2022. 2024 planning is well under way.
  18. …and 11 days later I remembered the photos. Here are some of a running session today. I’ve altered where the decoder sits, it’s now on the underside of the PCB. The trailing bogie pickups are still a bit iffy. I may end up hard wiring them to the PCB.
  19. I also gave the 6B a run, still not happy with the trailing bogie pick ups. I might end up hard wiring them.
  20. Tractor time today….I popped up the road to get the RHTT working. 3J51:0950 York to York Rail head treatment train. 37419 and 37425 doing the honours. Lady Kell Gardens foot crossing.
  21. Been to the Birch Hall Inn, it was good….very busy but it was during the summer time.
