It is readable I’ll check, funnily I did think of listing that with the description. Off the top of my head it was C5/3 but I’ll confirm.

Help requested for this purchased Medium Format negative which is driving me nuts! Its 47471 in third rail territory. The picture shows a station in the background that could be a CLASP type building with a modern footbridge. There is the hint of a rail over road bridge between the station and train and the track curves sharply right past the station with the track curving left by the photographer. 8 or 9 car Mk2 rake with what looks like a Mk1 RMB. I can narrow the dates a bit as 47471 was named Nov 1982 got its headlight around Spring 1984 and then Intercity livery by August 1987. So 4/84 to 6/87ish. A lot has changed in 30+ years but this is quite a distinctive location. I've spent ages on Google Maps following railway lines around. This looks SR to me but I've had some North London line suggestions too which haven't panned out. I don't think this is Merseyside. Any suggestions gratefully received.

The 4TC after a quick squirt of Rail grey.....doesn't match the Farish paintwork very well. Looks like some work still required on the quarterlights. The NEM bar couplers in place. It'll be interesting to see how this propels now.

Well UPS delivered a box from Shapeways safely today. A pair of RailNscale Range Rovers. A RailNscale Bedford Chevanne and a Reliant Robin from another maker. Some NEM bar couplers for the 4TC.....I've fitted the middle length ones at present Some buffers for the DTS coaches of the 4TC set. The Farish ones are too short with the cab end added and a little lightweight. Finally some chimney pots in a couple of styles.

About 90% in colour (slides) plus some B&W ( medium format negatives).

Saturday afternoon had a trip into the countryside, to Gilling and the RSME running day. I’ll post some photos later but seeing miniature engineering masterpieces with full length passenger and freight trains running around the track was a great afternoon out. https://rsme.org.uk

You are only allowed around 180 pictures per book, plus cover shots. The locations are places I’ve visited when trainspotting, although they aren’t all my photos. 26 are South and West Wales, Newport, Cardiff, Tenby, Whitland, Carmarthen...... Nothing from the Valleys I rejected the ones I had as not good enough.

I hope so too. They do a first edit then you get the book back to proof read and correct. They then proof read again prior to print. I sent back a dozen or so alterations about 50% were my initial typing errors like leaving the word ton out from 45 ton tank wagons, still made sense to them but was wrong.

The second book has just come back for proof reading, due for November publication. Here is a low res picture of the cover to whet your appetite.

Here are the 4TC cabs. Next stage will be to drill the holes for the handrails.....does anyone do fine flat strip, otherwise its Nickel Silver wire.

Jumpers made up and fitted today along with the cab windows and a bit of paint added. Pictures to follow.

Good that’s exactly my opinion 5 amp plus paint. Looks like 10amp fuse wire is only available on a reel rather than a short length on a card.

Only two weeks in the builders have got on very very well. Old extension, garage, carport and conservatory demolished. Old foundations removed and new ones poured. Slabs and brickwork up to just below floor height. A couple of views of the room for the layout. It'll be approx 12ft 6ins by 10ft 6ins before the plaster goes on. The other bit you can see is the new garage.
