  1. I think the Titan looks like a Titan at first glance which is what most people will do. Good idea parking it in the LBG bus station. I just use Humbrol red in an acrylic aerosol for my LT buses.
  2. The SR used to use the Hastings DEMUs on Merrymaker excursions, admittedly often a 6B or L, I’ve certainly been to Leicester on one trip and Derby on another. Their finale on the Long Thin Drag railtour took them over the S&C. Sheffield no problem.....
  3. It’ll at the very least look like a different sort of bus and somehow I don’t think you’re likely to make a hash of it.
  4. Good idea John, however Mr Carter owns a Kernow one which he has taken a few photos of for me, easier to flip upside down. I’ll have to get some more and of the roof too.
  5. Well my copy of the Goulding EMU plans book arrived today...bit of an oh moment as the drawings for the 4TC don’t show any underframe equipment. Looks like I’m going to have to rely solely on photos. The plans also don’t have roof ventilator positions, only the side elevations.
  6. The Range Rover scrubs up especially well.
  7. I left the side windows alone as moving them also meant moving the doors, the panel where the stairs are and all the roof ribs. It’s really only a Metrobus front and back but looks different to the DMS and now not like the Atlantean it was bashed from. Cars Workshop would clean up if they anglicised the DMS. A Metrobus would be a good subject too as well as a different coachbuilder for an Atlantean. One day GF may reissue their buses at the correct scale.
  8. I don’t know John, but it certainly applies in this case. Or another Pythonesque version... If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must be a duck.
  9. Now to the 4TC End bay small sidelights cut out. Cab window partially cut out. The other side just shows the filled in toilet window. Coach reassembled, cab window yet to be finished. TBSK and TFK. The window on the opposite side of the TBSK is filled in and the toilet windows on the TFK have been changed. I have a cheap copy of Goulding EMU plans book on its way to help with equipment positioning etc plus some photos from a friend of the ends and underside of the Kernow 4TC.
  10. Ahhhhh pictures..... First up the completed Metrobus
  11. As with almost everything....there’s a website for that! Another name lost from the high street but due to the owners selling the bits off. Interestingly owned by British Electric Traction. http://www.rediffusion.info
  12. I’m getting a bit behind with the picture postings.......later tonight honest! Sat in the garden with the two DTC/TSOs for the 4TC. First coach has had the small sidelights added and the side cab window, one one side so far. The cab window had to be restarted as the plastic used to fill the original toilet window pushed through when drilling out the new one. I’ve also dismantled the TFK and swopped the toilet windows for the correct style ( no vent ). No beer today at least while I’m modelling!
  13. The problem with a blown up n gauge image. A very steady hand required. I always think the pictures on RailNscales website of finished models always look rough. They do look better in the flesh. Are you leaving the van(s] plain?
  14. Looking good Grahame....just had this email from RailNscale. Hello Andy, I just finished the Vauxhall Chevette models and ordered the first models at Shapeways. Once I've checked , painted, photographed etc the models, they will become available in a couple of weeks. The following kits will become available in British N scale 1/148: U2311 - Vauxhall Chevette 4-door notchback U2312 - Vauxhall Chevette hatchback U2313 - Vauxhall Chevette estate U2811 - SET 3x Vauxhall Chevette U2314 - Bedford Chevanne with open rear hatch U2814 - SET Bedford Chevanne with open rear hatch with delivery man All models will be RHD and unpainted. The same kits will also come in N scale 1/160 (article numbers starting with 'N')
  15. At least it hasnt gone missing.
  16. Yorkshire area NGS meeting today, for a change I took some US stuff to run, Kato F40s, step down coach, baggage car, Supeliners and MHC,s most of this hasn’t been run for about 5 years. Usual KATO faultless out of the box, the step down coach and baggage car had never been even been out of the box. Some more progress with the 4TC. Both TSOs for the DTS dismantled, extra door to the end compartments added, toilet windows filled in. Next job will be to mark up the cabside windows and cut them out. I may have a cunning plan with the cabs.......it’s called outsourcing! I’ll post some pictures of progress so far later this weekend.
  17. Have you checked the garden....oh no that’s Yodels letterbox.
  18. Crayford, Gravesend, Tonbridge and Ashford. I’ve tried splitting it fairly evenly between the divisions at the expense of Brighton and Sussex which will get a volume to themselves. There about 50 from the SED, 70 from the Central and 60 from the SWD.
  19. Yes, all taken at the south end looking north from platform 4.
  20. It’s pictures with captions, but some quite long ones.
  21. Some interesting models there, shame it’s 1/160 for n gauge.....and 11.50euro postage. They do look useful for the background and they do a Reliant Supervan. My Dad only ever drove three wheelers and had a Supervan.
  22. Interesting 3D printed cars here too, from another subject on RMweb. https://www.a2models.nl New thread started here...... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/135058-niche-manufacturer-of-model-railway-vehicles/
  23. The first of six books I’m doing for Amberley Publishing will be available mid September. First proof has just gone back to them for corrections. https://www.amberley-books.com/community-main-page/g/community-andy-gibbs-22/the-southern-region-in-the-1970s-and-1980s.html The second volume will cover the WR and I’m just finishing scanning the photos for this, it should be available in November.
  24. I have a copy, don’t have the earlier volumes. It runs year by year giving details of significant incidents and events, interspersed with B&W images. Most of the accident images are from my collection. Nice book which leads up to when I started with BR in 1978.
  25. Many thanks Folks the depth of knowledge on RMweb is second to none.
