  1. This time at Victoria park Bristol, The Peak 45046 appears to have the Headcode 1S61, which suggests something enroute to Scotland!!......any clues to what service this might be July 1975. The 47 is 47369. Many thanks once again.
  2. Thank you very much. I’d been through the on line resources but not found anything. My 1Hxx books only start at 1980.
  3. I'm trying to ID a train I have a slide of, taken at Bath Spa. It is of 47234 with Mk1 stock ( could even be a van train) taken on 14th June 1975 heading wetbound with the ID 1M26 in the headcode display. Does anyone have access to a WR WTT or know what the train is. The date is a saturday, My grey cells seem to think there was a Weymouth to Midlands train that ran via Westbury and Bristol? Thanks in advance...hopefully not too much head scratching. Link to the picture.
  4. Yes a second n gauge road vehicle topic......what conversions or mods have you done to any n gauge lorries and vans for your layout? From back to front ODC 8 wheel chassis and flatbed, PG models Ergo cab plus Farish sheeted resin load. Homemade decals. BT models 4 wheel chassis, scratchbuilt Luton body, PG Models Bedford MK cab, ODC 8 wheel chassis with the front axle chopped off, PG models Ergo cab, scratchbuilt tipper body. Homemade decals. ODC Commer PB van was in BR livery, letteing removed and British Telecom decals from Lychett Manor added plus ladder and rack. Parker models Mk1 Ford Transit van kit, painted and homemade decals for Rediffusion.
  5. Like many of us buses are another fascinating subject and many of us have custom made bus fleets ( or not ) for our layouts. Any n gauge modellers out there willing to show what their bus fleets are. I know Graham Hedges will have his fleet posted shortly but who else is out there? This is my fleet for Kensington Olympia.....picture 1 From L to R Cars Workshop DMS with TPM conversion kit, BT Models dual door Atlantean converted into a Mk1 MCW Metrobus. 2 Farish Leyland Nationals converted to dual door, the far right one has open doors with passengers alighting and joining. This is the rest of fleet, various ODC RM's some resprayed and new blinds etc added. The RT is for driver training.
  6. Try a search on the various photo hosting sites... This is what “freight” finds on mine. http://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/search.html?q=Freight I think coal oil cement etc bring up results too.
  7. Traffics now in 1/148. https://railnscale.com/2018/06/16/new-in-british-n-scale-neu-in-tt-grose/
  8. They were very quick to upscale the Kadetts when I asked. Chevettes soon.
  9. This is good stuff. If you haven’t already had a look I recommend Grahame Hedges thread dealing with the buildings around London Bridge in n gauge. He uses a mix of mountboard and embossed plasticard plus Redutex. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/115057-scratch-built-card-and-styrene-structures-based-on-real-buildings/ Or as an alternative my Kensington Olympia n gauge layout uses plasticard and mountboard for the framework with scalescene downloaded brick papers etc. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/75679-kensington-olympia-in-n-scale/
  10. The Metrobus after being sprayed red then masked up for the radiator grill, destination blinds etc. With all the lights and grills picked out and decals added.
  11. The Metrobus is nearly finished, I need to get a finer silver marker to do the window vents and some yellow paint for the front doors. All the painting has been completed and destination blinds and roundal added. Once it’s all reassembled I’ll need to add some adverts. Pictures to follow. A friend has sent me some underframe photos of the coaches on the Kernow 4TC for equipment positioning, I’ve asked for some more.
  12. I had spotted that but thought they just hadn’t withdrawn it yet. Would have to glue the bonnet back down!
  13. Yes the Renault Traffic is a new model.
  14. Looks pretty good, Obs lights ( windscreen ) seem too big to me. They need to start lower down.
  15. RailNscale have had to withdraw their BMW 3 series model due to the threat of legal action from BMW. https://railnscale.com/2015/11/22/bmw-3-series-e21/ Bu***r I only found out when I went to order some.
  16. Just ordered a sound version of 50043...I think I can justify that for Olympia. Used on freights through to the SR and they are bound have been used on the Motorail trains.
  17. This is a Herpa one 1/87 http://www.modelcar-43.ch/plugins/papoo_shop/images/474_600x600_Mercedes1928Autotransporter18710_Mercedes_Porsche_TransporterHerpa.JPG
  18. 50049 is in Large Logo livery and currently has a mainline certification. Front cover of the current issue of Rail Express. Has miniature snow ploughs fitted both ends at the moment. Other mainline certificated locos are 07 08 17 44 non operational 49 and 50
  19. Preserved now? What time period are you looking at Ben?
  20. Some progress at yesterdays NGS YAG meeting. The Metrobus has had further work and whilst it took me an age to dismantle it, it took an Eon to put it back together and make sure everything fitted. I will need to check the door apertures are wide enough prior to painting. The body after a squirt of primer, one or two areas need attention, but otherwise not bad. The class 33/1 had a run out with the four cars for the 4TC, propelling at high speed. This was very successful but I think I will still weight the leading vehicles a bit. One thing it did show up was that the headcode on Crompton only illuminated in one direction and red blinds only........hopefully just a wire off somewhere.
  21. Not much in N gauge again. Modern models get a Disco and there’s a Bristol MW Royal Blue Coach.....I think these lasted into National Express white...hint hint. The OO commander coach version is an odd choice but it will add another vehicle to my Southdown fleet. James (who’s still holding out dearly for a Ford Focus announcement one day!) I’m still holding out for an HC Viva.....British Racing Green, black vinyl roof for the same reason.
  22. Episode 5 of The Bridge tonight......I might just have the last bottle of Landlord watching it.
  23. The etched bus doors arrived from London Bridge land today....measuring them, the apertures on the Atlantean are too big by about 1.5mm in height compared to the doors so some plasticard has been used to lower them. Here are some images to compare it against the Cars Workshop DMS. The glazing on the Atlantean is very thick so I'm still umming and arrring about re-glazing it completely.
  24. Some pictures of the Atlantean....sorry Metrobus! Not looking its best covered in filler on the edges to square it up a bit. The first lots of filler have now been sanded down and more added......
