  1. This is a rare venture into blog-land for me, I was attracted (?) in when I saw your Luxembourgish headline on the RMWeb main page. I wouldn't dare to criticise your Luxembourgish - in my experience the locals in any one village couldn't (or wouldn't) agree with those of any other village of how to spell or pronounce anything in Luxembourgish! I understand that an official dictionary exists these days.

The CFL has changed quite a lot since I used it (from Luxembourg Central, or Cents-Hamm to Betzdorf). Didn't they also have some diesel locomotives bought in conjunction with the SNCB? Were they the MOHABs? I never did get round to building a layout based on Oetrange, but that looked like an interesting junction with the stock and route variations you have described.

It's good to see these CFL models, keep up the good work!

  2. From RMWeb3, and Daves "Southern Pride 4REP" thread..............

    Dave asked the following ...........

And I offered the following in hopeful reply ...

I would like to expand on the Answer now ...

Having been tiding up in the Model room I came across a SP package with a set of Shoe Beams for B4/5 trailing or MK6 Motor bogies.. and the pack was labelled as Item # P198a, Aha! I thought I'll post that ... but first I'll check it out on the SP website...

Well no luck, P198a doesn't exist  B*M!

So I did a little navigation ... and found .................. TA DA!

P 358 Shoebeams & Support brackets & dampers for B4/B5 sideframes (white metal) (pr) 1.75

    P 358a Shoebeams & Support brackets & dampers for B4/B5 sideframes (white metal) (4 Car Set) 4.50

So there you go Dave, much easier that faffing about with the earlier posted idea.

    This WILL help.

    Mike.

    Hi Mike,

I've just found my way back in to the blog - I can see what the naysayers meant when they criticised the blog system, but of course the only way to really know is to try it! Now I have found how to get back to the blog, and to see that there is a / are some comments, it means that I have some insight into the gainsayers' opinions too.

Anyway, back to the shoebeams - great minds must think alike! I too found the shoebeams on the Southern Pride site; when I was looking for something completely different, as one does. My order is with Mr Lewis at the moment, probably waiting for the cheque to clear.

Many thanks for your help, it is comforting to know that I have at least one reader out there.

    Cheers,

    Dave
