    Snapped the wire on my Games Workshop / Citadel Modelling hot foam cutter. A brand new cutter with spare wires ordered; but has anyone tried fuse wire on the GW/CM version? Did it work?

      just get a Woodlands Scenics replacement wire for about £5

      Ah, but I have to wait for that to arrive - I was wondering if I can sensibly use what is already in the toolbox!

      Not the same as fuse wire but guitar strings or the wire used for fishing lures can be used I believe.

      The resistivity is the issue as it needs too maintain an constant heat across the wire and not 'fuse'.

      Cant do any harm though.
