    Hi Nile. I was really impressed with your Drummond 700 class conversion -- from BR to LSWR green. I have the same loco and have been thinking of doing the same, however I'm really nervous about taking so many small parts off it. Could I do a similar conversion simply by taping/masking the areas? TIA. Rob

      As goods engines these were always painted Holly (dark) green. When new the lining was a bit more elaborate, like passenger engines.

      There is the other issue that the model is of a rebuilt loco, the rebuilding started in 1920. Backdating it to original condition is not for the faint hearted.

      Yes probably. The pipes around the boiler should be copper coloured anyway, so after painting the boiler green you could slip some paper under the pipes and then paint them copper.
