  1. Bure Valley Models have the Hornby BR Standard 2MT at £164 at the moment. Theres one less now! https://www.burevalleymodels.com/p/17214/R3836---BR-Standard-2MT-2-6-0-78047---Era-5
  2. Hi John, I've just tried it with Safari on a Mac and its working fine. Terry
  3. The new issue arrived at the Outer Rim this morning. It looks like it will be as well thumbed as the previous issues! A small present day layout is now being planned. utilising an IKEA Lack shelf. Many thanks Grahame for taking the time to produce these books. Terry
  4. Hi Bryn, Glad to help. Re-reading my reply I realise my description of the RMC digital access wasn't very clear. It's through RailroadModelCraftsman.com and when you subscribe they give you password access. The White River Productions App which I use on my iPad does the same job, so you can access on either platform. The magazine can be downloaded on the iPad for offline reading which I found useful when on holiday with no internet access. I subscribed when Stephen Priest was editor and really liked the content. When he moved on I felt that it wasn't as good under Otto Vondrak at first but it has steadily improved and I wouldn't miss it now. I also subscribe to the Model Railroad Hobbyist online mag. The mag is free but I I pay for the Running Extra content, they have special offers on all the time so I signed up when it was fairly cheap. The MRH forum is good too. e.g. the superb Tom Johnsons Cass County model railroad which featured in the October 22 RMC can be found on the MRH forum in much greater depth, with lots of useful photos. 5. Hi, I subscribe to the full package through Trains.com and find it fairly user friendly. You have to access the magazines through the archive menu for each magazine but not only do you get the current issue you can access all the back issues too. going back years! sometimes the magazines when loading have occasional glitches, loading the pages upside down or not at all, but if i go back later its fine. There is a lot of video content some of which is only available to members. The package doesn't give access to the special editions so I use Zinio for those. I subscribe to RMC too and it is a more serious modeller content I find. Again you have access to back issues back to 2012. They have their own digital platform. Hope that helps. Terry
  6. The manual is available as a download on Accurascales website. F11 is for the red/tail lights and F12 for the cab lights.which are directional and F25 for the Engine room lights which is an on/off function. https://www.accurascale.com/pages/support#reamaze#0#/kb/class-55-deltic/download-the-class-55-manual HTH Terry
  7. Huge thanks to Matt (TentValleyRailway) for his video. Domestic reasons meant I couldn't make the trip south to the show but a great video of the show made up for it. ( A bit!) The standard of the layouts looked to be very high so I definitely missed out. Plans are afoot for next year when hopefully I will be in a position to be able to travel. Terry
  8. I visited the site last night using both Chrome and Safari to book search and ultimately purchase with no problems. Definitely no warnings on either browser. Terry
  9. Ordered an Oxford Rail J27 sound fitted this week. It was at a great price and arrived in the far north very well packed and worked straight from the box. There was a note from Saul to say it had been tested prior to despatch. If you read some of the comments on the Oxford rails J27 thread then you would know why I was relieved! Great service and good comms from them throughout the transaction. Terry
  10. 2 of my favourite books are the 2 volumes of C.C. Greens 'Coast Lines of the Cambrian Railways' and this layout captures the atmosphere of the books so well. Absolutely loved the video, thank you for taking the time to do it. Terry
  11. Another happy camper here. Ordered a Hornby Bulleid coach on Saturday on the ebay store, arrived in the frozen north this morning. Terry
  12. It was December 1973. I remember it well. One of the first Railway Modellers I bought! The article was Just Supposing 3 by Arthur Whitehead. Regards Terry
  13. Arrived for me in my local shop just a few miles north of John O'Groats.... Terry
  14. Many moons ago on an earlier version of RMWeb (no longer available) I started a thread on an embryo North Las Vegas switching layout. As others have said, other interests (BR EM gauge) domestic circumstances and a house move to the Northern isles have put the project on hold. Part of the layout is now up and running (no scenery yet) in our outbuilding but no heating in there has stopped work on it until the spring. A new thread is going to be started when work recommences. It is unfortunate that so many US model shops have gone, Model junction will be a miss as I have used them quite a bit as my layout building has restarted. Buying from the US is easy but the post charges can be astronomical. We have a friend in California who can send me stuff like Plano etches at a reasonable rate. I use ebay quite a bit too. There doesn't seem to be as many US outline layouts on the exhibition circuit at the moment, although my new location means I haven't been to a show for 5 years. Terry
  15. Ah! Thanks John R. I never thought of that but I yes I ticked the February option too. No doubt Andy and the team will clarify this after the Peterborough dust settles!
  16. Likewise, print copy arrived today, which is very nice, but I was expecting digital access instead so I could cancel my Pocketmags subs. Terry
  17. Hi Does anyone have spare front fairings for a blue Bachmann Class 42 Warship. I've acquired a second hand model without the fairings and I would like to fit fairings, full pipework and screw couplings at both ends. Many thanks Terry
  18. If you have a look in the DCC sound topics he posts there regularly
  19. It might be worth asking Richard Croft of this parish if he could help. Terry
  20. You are definitely not the only one to have a library in the smallest room. We have somehow ended up with a large Billy Bookcase and two small ones, in ours. Mrs A insists its called the 'small powder room' whatever that means!
  21. Another very satisfied customer here. Ordered late Thursday night, woke up to a follow up e-mail for exact numbers and depots, and arrived here in the Outer Rim this morning! Terry
  22. Renton seems to be just an assembly plant and has a production line similar to car manufacture. Just about everything is outsourced: OutsourcingMany components are not built by Boeing but are outsourced to other manufacturers both in the US and increasingly around the world. This may be either for cost savings in production, specialist development or as an incentive for that country to buy other Boeing products. Here is a list of some of the outsourced components: Fuselage, engine nacelles and pylons - Spirit AeroSystems (formerly Boeing), Wichita. Slats and flaps - Spirit AeroSystems (formerly Boeing), Tulsa. Doors - Vought, Stuart, FL. Spoilers - Goodrich, Charlotte, NC. Vertical fin - Xi'an Aircraft Industry, China. Horizontal stabiliser - Korea Aerospace Industries. Ailerons - Asian Composites Manufacturing, Malaysia. Rudder - Bombardier, Belfast and AVIC subsidiary Chengfei Commercial Aircraft (CCAC), China Tail section (aluminium extrusions for) - Alcoa / Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing, China. Main landing gear doors - Aerospace Industrial Development Corp, Taiwan. Inboard Flap - Mitsubishi, Japan. Elevator - Fuji, Japan. Winglets - Kawasaki, Japan. Fwd entry door & Overwing exits - Chengdu Aircraft, China. Wing-to-body fairing panels and tail cone - BHA Aero Composite Parts Co. Ltd, China Terry
  23. Meanwhile in Skykomish WA... Heading for Renton, Seattle. I was lucky enough to see one last night too. Terry

Likewise here in the Orkney Archipelago. Very pleasant sitting at the modelling bench in the conservatory overlooking Scapa Flow! All the sun without the angst. Terry
