  1. First sign of a human and the first thing a badger does is go and scurry behind the shed for safety 😉
  2. There was some, a special in 1993 on the Weardale Railway used a set - K1 2005 and 47833 Capt. P:eter Mainsy was the motive power https://flic.kr/p/fzEN36
  3. Thanks @woodenhead I never knew I was well known 😉
  4. Well they did the same for TINGS last year with the 90, true it wasn't on sale (I bet the plan was for it to be but some slippage occurred) so they announced it so they could display it. Fingers crossed they do announce a brand new loco.
  5. Just for the record I do model in N gauge, I have 2 layouts that attend exhibitions (one won best in show), member of the N Gauge society and also treasurer of my local area group. Don't think that really classes me as a OO modeller. I would love Farish to churn out loads of stuff every quarter - I still long for a SDJR 7F but I acknowledge that the market would be fairly small in N gauge for one and we have to take the chances we get. Will these Mak 1's and Mark 2F's fly out the door or will they end up in bargain bins? Hopefully fly out the doors so it encourages more production runs
  6. I did not see the Ivatt coming with sound, certainly a good surprise. I have one already that ius very much a rule 1 engine so a 2nd will be hard to justify but I will find a way. A 5mt is also a must have, not sure which one yet. Rolling stock is my main aim this quarter, stock up on mark 1's whilst shops have them
  7. The way I see it is this should be the announcement that is focused on N Gauge from Bachmann. We are now looking at releases for May through July - so a bit of slippage takes us into August as well. The Big N Gauge show (TINGS) is held in September. Best time to flood the market is now so the retailers are full of Farish and EFE products when they load their vans up for the big show. Plus the N gauge society show in a couple of weeks at York will also make them popular with all these new models to display. As OO is the main market seller August should see normality return ready for Warley etc
  8. I sure will, been trying to pick up Blue & Grey Mk1 TSO's and SK's on ebay for ages but not much luck. As for Mk2F TSO's they were going crazy so having 2 released will b a big help. It does look like sense has prevailed though as there is no Mk2F BSO so presumably we will see a shift in quantities now. Either way with those coaches and the Std 5MT and Ivatt 2MT my wallet is trembling. That was BEFORE the sale day
  9. Still think its weird to do Bahamas support coach but no sign of Bahamas. Or is this a clue as to the impending release of a new set of Jubilee's next quarter?
  10. Have amended your post to be more accurate 🤣
  11. Problem is of course is the website linked to the tills and stock? So they might have bought 5 of something and listed 5 online, but then the shop sold 2 over the counter so they have 3 on the shelf. Does the website stock change or stay constant? If its not linked it must be a nightmare for them at shows as they cannot guarantee what is selling
  12. I suppose the simple logic here is, IF Revolution ever announce plans to make a 66 the market will dictate if that happens. Some people will clamber for it, others will stick with what they have and others (such as myself) who don't model post privatisation will have no need for a 66 either way. Suppose the best analogy is "build it and they will come" or at least "offer it and they will buy"
  13. Book the Bachmann collectors club lounge for the next one, see if the noise is quieter in there 😆
  14. Loved the interview, Fran and Steve certainly gave a good account of themselves and whilst not actually saying they are I got a hint that the 37 is on the cards (37/4 in Intercity please 🙏) by their comments and tone, I certainly suspect with Steve's comments doing the coaches as part of a pack option is in the offering. Either way, back end of this year will prove interesting when the first announcement comes @TomE only slight point is sometimes the background noise made it hard to hear them speak, not sure if this is going to happen more at shows you can invest in some sort of microphone to reduce the crowd noises heard.
  15. I wouldn;t say changed their minds, more updated to reflect the changes made by the factory owing to other schedules slipping
  16. Roll on payday (28th), will be ordering a pair of these lovely models then
  17. If the OO gauge is anything to go off we will see the Virgin Mk2F's along with Intercity swallow in the same quarter as the locos are released, so this suggests the next announcement we may see the start of new coaching stock
  18. I think based on this topic there is a demand for Accurascale to branch out into N Gauge, so come on @Accurascale Fran how about it? Maybe you could book a stan at TINGS thi year and give us something to cheer about 😉
  19. This is my issue exactly. Yes the Farish 37 and Dapol 50 could b bettered but I have 14 37's and 7 50's so replacing them is not going to be viable just now. Plus takin on Farish is a amble see the OO 37 that came out from Bachmann recently, you need to go down roads they more than likely won't tread. We can all wishlist here and suggest stuff that might not sell too well, but Accurascale did say "business case" so clearly would do N gauge if they could find th model that will generate a profit, profit means moe money to invest back into new ranges so its a win win
  20. Almost a sense of hypocrisy for me to post against N gauge models when I started this post, but realistically how well would a new 31, 37 ,or Deltic do? Ignoring the fact that more popular choices such as Regi 31 and Intercity 37/4 have not appeared in the new Farish tooling (yet), from hat I can tell there is still a good few 31's and 37's out there. Kernow have more than 10 of the Loadhaul 37 in stock and this i supposed as far as I can tell one of the favourite liveries for them. For a company to make their first venture into N gauge taking on a loco that i already out there could be a gamble, it seems the logical choice is the rolling stock allowing multiple purchases easily, that could then generate capital for producing further models
  21. Thanks for your reply Fran, glad to have a chance to offer some sugestions. as @TomE said surely the MGR wagons i a viable option. N gauge has the advantage of much more in a smaller space so we can (hopefully) fit scale length MGR trains into a smaller space, so the possibility of modellers purchasing more wagons is available. More sales = more profits 🙂 Any of the Mark 2 stock you are offering has also got to be an attractive proposition for N gauge, I have numerous diesels from the Scottish and south west region but I am struggling to source suitable passenger stock for them and I know I am not alone, a recent visit to my local model shop failed to yield a single Blue and grey coach, whereas eBay prices are often double what the shops had them for when they fist came out. I would love to see some of your excellent locos scaled down but at present I think Farish and Dapol have the 31, 37, 50 and Deltic market covered, but in time maybe sales of stock could persude locos to follow.
  22. I do not have the space for a OO layout that can run scale length main line trains, that is why I moved to N gauge about 8 years ago
  23. Sorry for a blatant Wishlisting post but all these lovely Mark 2's are coming out in OO and as an N gauge modeller we are desperately crying out for good quality rolling stock, particularly for the blue and grey era (perfect Mark 2 zone 😉 ). What are the chances of Accurscale offering their Mk2 stock in N gauge? We have seen other companies attempt to enter this market with limited success admittedly but they were doing obscure one off types from their OO range, not a staple run of the mill coach. Even offering the TSO up for some kind of expression of interest could be a low risk venture to seeing if there was a market for them
  24. Hopefully the first part is right and the last part is wrong, I was hoping the last batch of 37's would gewt the sound upgrade but no joy yet. Maybe next time
