    The railcar my wife reserved for me for my Christmas present now looks unlikely to be ready before Christmas. I guess the Christmas day service on my layout will have to wait!

      Sounds protoypical for SNCF - presumably even the bustitution stops on 25Dec.

      Probably, but I am sure there are some places with odd and querky rules that prevent that from happening.
