The J67/68/69 ‘Buckjumper’, By Accurascale
26power replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
A pretty immediate thought was that Iain Rice would love this; I vaguely recall reading a MRJ article by him about the intricacies of the class. It is therefore good to see in the class history piece that he had some input in to the development of these models. https://www.accurascale.com/blogs/news/a-bevy-of-buckjumpers-holden-s-r24-and-s56-classes-lner-j67-j69-and-hill-c72-class-lner-j68- 500 replies

Just for reference really, but maybe of interest to those less familiar with the location, this seems to be the best available large scale OS mapping: https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16.7&lat=55.30830&lon=-3.45897&layers=168&b=8 Somewhere fairly recently (last year or two) I saw a picture or two of an unusual BR steam era crane for loco coaling at Beattock shed. Assuming that is relevant for the period being modelled I’ll try and find them again!

Beattock station or Beattock summit?! Sounds interesting regardless!
-
Easy enough for the manufacturer to get them right as well!

A “thumbs up” seems an inadequate response to the huge efforts and impressive work being done on this 26. Keep it up and best of luck! -

Thanks for the comments and explanation. I did say that they are pretty niche! -
NER 20t Hoppers, By Accurascale
26power replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Possibly potential for a further variation, for the LNER bulk alumina conversions? Or for someone to produce add on parts? Given the references to the Slaters kit for one of the planned versions I assume one is the right type as the basis for these conversions, given Slaters do a 7mm kit for the alumina hopper and that is a variation on its NER wooden hopper kit. See: https://slatersplastikard.com/linePage.php?suffix=JPG&code=7042A Tongue in cheek comment really, but the first thing I thought off! Ideal for West Highland line based layouts (and perhaps also some central Scotland based ones) for some time frames. When searching for a link to the Slaters model there didn’t immediately seem to be much information about them online. There was though one suggestion that there were 20 conversions. If so pretty niche! No doubt there is information in books that I don’t immediately have to hand. Or have. -

Isinglass Models launch updated website
26power replied to Isinglass Models's topic in Smaller Suppliers
I had a very quick look at the website. One immediate observation when you get to a page for an individual item is that the light yellow “heading” is not very legible against the white background. Hope this small bit of feedback assists! -
Another Brian Flannigan picture, which might be a useful angle.

Answering my own question, it seems that there are now charges. Up to 4hrs is 50p. Up to 6hrs is £6. Up to 12hrs is £12. From: https://www.liveactive.co.uk/News/car-parking-at-perth-leisure-pool-and-dewars-centre Hope this helps, especially if you are going for the day/most of the day! -

Is parking at the Dewars Centre still free/unrestricted? I seem to recall there was some issue about charges being introduced the last time you had an exhibition but that they were not applied for your exhibition? I might have misremembered though!
