  1. First pictures of the new Englands has been revealed! 51-251C Palmerston: 51-251D Welsh Pony: 51-251J Little Giant: 51-251H Exmoor Pony:
  2. Removed due to wrong thread. Easy mistake to make as one usually doesn't see a separate threads for each subclass of loco.
  3. I installed a Zimo MX616R. The motor connects to the split chassis with phosphor bronze strips that slot into the sides. If you pull these out and unclip the motor, one can do all the soldering away from the model.
  4. It is a listing mix-up. The red and cream bowsiders will be GR-602 and GR622. Early samples were shown at Warley.
  5. Not anymore! Taliesin, Palmerston and Merddin Emrys were repainted in 2015 and 2016 in a lighter shade which is accepted as more accurate to the historic livery it depicts.
  6. So you expect 'Welsh Pony' and 'Little Giant' not to sell because of a 0.67mm difference in cab length?
  7. 51-251C No.4 'Palmerston' in Ffestiniog Railway maroon 51-251D No.5 'Welsh Pony' in Purple Brown - Post October 2020 condition 51-251J No.6 'Little Giant' in Ffestiniog Railway lined maroon 51-251H No.195 'Exmoor Pony' in fictional Southern Railway lined green & black
  8. Retailers are now taking orders for the 1970s/80s Bug Boxes. GR-558A Third Class No.3 GR-558B Third Class No.4 GR-558C Third Class No.5 GR-563 'Zoo Car' No.6
  9. Retailers are now taking orders, so they should be available soon.
  10. I bought a sound fitted Charles and bizarrely when running it exhibited traits exactly the same as in Paul's first video, but only some of the time! It appeared to be affected by curves and slight uphill gradients. It would get stuck with the right rear crank at 11 o'clock, which was the same point my first Britomart would get stuck. It occurred to me if this happened on a kit I built I would be most disappointed, so expectations of RTR should be no less. I hope the issue is fixed by the time the 2-4-0T+T models are released or I will need to rethink my layout plans. Watching it unstick itself reminded me of this departure I filmed once...
  11. Green England locos have been spotted over in Japan: Buying a second Princess won't create a paradox... will it?
  12. I also purchased a Britomart which had a tight spot that did not improve after 2 hours of running in. I exchanged it for another one (I can't recall ever having to return a model before) and it was better, but still seems to occasionally have the same issue (at the same point of rotation as well). I do hope a decoder will improve running, but generally a loco should not have to rely on one for acceptable running. I can't find the Zimo decoder in stock anywhere (I gather the Bachmann one is the same, but at a higher price) so the jury is still out on this. I appreciate these are small locomotives, but my expectations are high after seeing how my Bachmann N gauge Percy performs which is a similar size. I am now hesitant about the new Penrhyn Hunslets, as videos online also show mixed running qualities, which is a shame as I'd really like the tender versions when they inevitably happen.
  13. So that's where all the PECO slate wagons have gone!
  14. So David doesn't need to post any more of my pictures, here's the rest of my range: Festiniog Railway Wagon No. 118 https://www.shapeways.com/product/5MQG2UAYY/fr-wagon-no-118-5-5mm-scale Festiniog Railway Wagon No. 130 https://www.shapeways.com/product/GZAJMEPZL/fr-wagon-no-130-5-5mm-scale Festiniog Railway Wagon with open doors.
