  1. Well managed to sneak home at lunchtime, as curiosity got the better of me and had a quick look at the partially weathered models. Initial impressions are a bit disappointing thosad.gif

I bought four (1 of each different running number) and the weathering (or removal of the weathering) is identical on all four. Also where the weathering has been removed there are very obvious finger/thumb prints on the a couple of the tanker sides dry.gif

I'll take them out for a good look over later, but overall a bit disappointed especially as all the other variants I've had have been superb! No doubt I can sort this and get the weathering/cleaning more random but at the moment they're not floating my boat sad.gif

  2. Postman delivered a big box this morning from Kernow rolleyes.gif obviously the partially weathered Silver Bullets have arrived - sadly as I was late for work had no time to look or check them over so that'll have to wait for a few hours angry.gif

Has anyone got any of the new batch - if so how do they look?? (I'm not the most patient of people lol) Looking forward to seeing them anyways biggrin.gif

  3. Hi Dave,

I've been lurking on the forum a while now and always check by for some of your updates - what can I say other than :icon_drool: it just shows you that as long as you have a great eye for detail you don't need an area the size of an aircraft hangar to have and operate a great layout :icon_thumbsup2:

Just one question from me - and sorry if you've already mentioned it - how do you go about weathering your rolling stock? Even with some of the close up shots it all looks more than realistic to me and it would be great to know something of the technique used.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

PS. Keep posting the pics as I never tire of seeing them!

  4. Mine arrived yesterday - amazing really as it had only been ordered on Friday, however I'm less than impressed with the running qualities of the model I have :( In reverse its as sweet as a nut, but going forwards it seems really notchy and squeals like a good un even after running it on the rolling road for an hour it still seems no better  will have another look later tonight but have a feeling it may be going back
