This is one end of the cutting near the canal basin. Very much foundation stage - long before any vegetation. Signal gantry had just been completed - bespoke item.

Been adding some photos back into my thread. After all the problems I have been trying to re-establish the progression of the layout. Hope it all makes sense with the retweaking!

One thing I did during the pandemic is to redo my layout's website. Very helpfully (!!!) my website provider packed up and I had to move to another company. Started work a few weeks ago on the station buildings - and a low relief shop - most of the photos above are on the other side of the layout. There is still a lot to do here - culminating in the painting and weathering. The plan is to add a car park, turning / drop off area for taxis in front of the station and a bus stopping area to the right of the station entrance. There is also some work to do on the backscene to add views through the gaps in the buildings to what lies beyond. The John Lewis building has working lighting - although this needs some finishing touches. If you wish to guess how the front of the building was finished let me know - see if you can recognise the product that has been adapted - I will confirm if it's right.

Amazing new tamper - great addition to my rolling stock on Chesterfield. I'll add some more photos and details in due course - see if I can get some good night shots - the lighting is to be seen to be believed!!!

Hello Maybe not quite the right approach but may I ask first if anyone is familar with using this product - if so I will add a question about wiring them. I look forward - hopefully - to hearing from someone. My question is not complex - just needs someone who understands how to wire this product. Thanks Paul

Hi Thanks for replying. Tried that - but didn't work!! I think I have found the answer via another means. Apparently the issue was with my Powerpro system box. The chip in it was an older one that didn't provide for functions up to 28. Mine went back to 2004 and I need a 2007 chip. I had this advice from NCE and Digitrains - I have ordered a chip from the latter. I hope this thread may prove helpful to someone looking on RMWEB in the future.

Hi I'm sorry if this has cropped up before - I did look first but couldn't find a relevant entry. I can access functions F0 to F9 but not F10 - 28. I have followed the procedure that is on a few websites and Youtube clips and changed the value of the OPTION key from 94 to 122. You may skip what follows in italics if you wish - but copied and pasted this so that you can see what I have done. If you cab is wireless, remove the batteries first. To access the cab set up mode: 1) Turn on the command station 2) Unplug your cab from the command station or panel. 3) Press and hold down the SELECT LOCO button on the cab while plugging in the cab. The cab will now enter its internal setup program. Release the select loco button after the cab is plugged in. 4) Press the Enter Key 5 times. Look for: PROG OPTION KEY The factory key value is 94 so the OPTION button will act as BRAKE button. Use the table below for other choices. Press Enter to complete your selection after you have entered your correct option key value. A common use is a value of 122 to program the option key as a Function Key Shift. Function Key Shift gives quicker and easier access to upper level functions above F10 by adding 10 or 20 the values of the keypad. At any time you may press PROG/ESC to leave set up mode. When I press the option key nothing happens - I have tried other suggestions like SHIFT and HEADLIGHT or SHIFT and 0 - still nothing happens. I have a wireless procab that is about 2 years old. Some progress near the locks. Working from back to front - garden coming on around lock keepers house. Added trellis yesterday and today and climbing roses (although need to add flowers). Lots to do still - including of course adding water, building to complete top left. Shot of my Hornby re liveried 60033 Tees Steel Express pulling a rake of EWS Coalfish wagons.

A couple of entries ago I promised a video of the electronic display / billboard board working. I am trying to insert a link so that you can view the video. Each advert is on the board for a much longer period before a change - I have speeded this up a bit so that you can view a few changes to get a better impression of the working board.

Progress with some vegetation - the inevitable buddleja's have arrived.

Quite a lot of work has been done in the canal area. Needs neatening up and further work done. I'm still to face adding the water!!!

This has been an interesting project during lockdown. Had fun with making the shops (still some finishing touches needed) but added an electronic billboard on one end. This was made with the help of my very IT savvy son in law and an LCD screen. I hope to add a video soon so you can see the posters / adverts dissolving on the screen - looks really cool!

Hi I wonder if anyone has any OO scale pallets that are suplus to requirements? I'm after the laser cut type - look like wood not plastic. Packets usually come in about ten or more and are quite expensive for what they are (my opinion). I only need a couple. There must be folk who have bought some and have pallest left over that they don't need. It's a shame to waste them. I'm willing to pay a small amount plus posting. If you can / would like to help please get back to me - a photo would help. Thanks

Finally managed to get some better lighting for the photography - all being well some more updates to follow soon showing progress with the layout. Let me know if you like the photos too!!! You will see stages of this area earlier in the thread. I have been completing work in the background in order to complete signalling and details etc in the foreground area. It is not finished yet (track painting to be completed and some details to the vegetation - also small building to be made yet for the yard)) but shows some scenic work that has been done. The next photo shows some items that may interest - the area of rosebay willow herb (that's what it's supposed to be!!!). A buddleja bush - more being made! Try and spot the chap cutting his hedge - hope to add a close up shortly.

Hi Just noticed you have not had any replies. If I was in your shoes I'd be looking on ebay. If I have understood correctly what you are after I have just seen several products that might suit your purposes. Hope this helps.
