  1. I have just acquired a Marklin AC Digital starter set. Are there any other AC modellers on RMWeb? I cannot seem to find any reference if there are.
  2. I thought the sound chips were in stock?. I had ordered, and paid for, a sound chip and speaker. Had notification this morning that the speaker was on it's way to me, but no mention of the chip.
  3. Now there's the thing. Where I live I have no mobile signal (it's a dead spot in the city). I have the internet and home phone line from the same provider. So when the cable gets cut (and it has been - twice), I lose the internet AND phone, so I have to go and find a neighbour on the same network and ask if I can borrow their phone to ring the fault centre.
  4. Not saying there's something fishy going on, but my rent [housing association flat] for the last two years has gone up by the same amount [within a £ or two] as the amount of increase in my state pension.
  5. A friend of mine (not on RMWeb) had his Loch Eil delivered, along with the AS sound chip but not the extra speaker. He says he's not impressed with the sound from the built-in speaker. As my 37 is not due until the end of August, when my sound chip AND speaker arrive, I'll let him fit them into his 37.
  6. 'on' and 'stop' mean the same thing. If a signal is 'on' then the train has to stop.
  7. Also, in Germany at least, generally the signalling goes - distant, starter, distant, starter * - so if a driver was to be routed onto some other line than he/she was expecting, then there would always be a distant signal 1km before the next stop signal. And, again generally, signals are always * placed above or immediately to the right of the line the train is on. * - 99% of the time
  8. Terrific map - thanks for the link.
  9. As an added bonus for the Roco Route Controller, you can set-up a whole sequence to operate points & signals, which makes life a lot easier. Each can handle up to 32 different routes and you can a second controller (like I have) if you wish to. The hardest part is finding the things! LOL
  10. True, but I use Roco Route Controllers so it's simply a matter of typing in the signal number and pressing a button.
  11. Hi Fran. Quick question please. What constitutes an order on your website? I checked my rewards and it said I had ordered 3 times. But under my orders, excluding 2 that are pending/partially paid, I have ordered and fully paid 10 times - 4 locos and 18 wagons spread over 6 orders. Thanks in advance.

I thought the rewards scheme was there from the start. Your explanation might then account for the difference, so thanks Dungrange. As to public or not, I'm not really bothered which.

No, the rewards scheme wasn't there from the start, but I can't say when it was introduced.  Most of my Accurascale purchases have been through my local retailer, but I've ordered direct twice.  The first (November 2019) was before the reward scheme was introduced and the second (November 2022) was after, so my reward points only relate to my second order.  I only have the points bonus for one order and the 3 points per pound tallies with the value of my second order.

That could well explain it then. Many thanks.

  12. Terminus platform starters would be 3 aspect (R/Y/G) as the double yellow is used to give an increased braking distance, something not necessary from a terminus.
  13. Thank you. They're the ones I had in mind - 211 & 212.
  14. I like the look of that loco - a Hunslet? Looks like a German 112 class loco to me.
  15. But I'm not on about RED tail lights (and yes, some decoders do allow turning off the tail lights when vehicles are attached to the loco), I'm on about the HEADLIGHTS.
  16. Indeed. i did think of that but plumped for the over-ride function in my post.
  17. Despite all the advancements in DCC and electronics, there's still one thing (at least) wrong with lights on locos. Imagine, as a simple example, a freight arriving at an intermediate place to drop off a wagon into a siding. As soon as the (model) loco and wagon(s) reverse to go into the siding, the headlights on the loco switch ends - this is NOT SO in real life. So I think there should be an over-ride function for such a scenario. To me, this would be much more useful and realistic than the multitude of 'extra' sounds provided that I (and probably others too) never use.
