  1. As I understand from your initial post you had problems before adding the CAN modules.

    It is possible that there is a problem with your  I2C interconnections and in particular the 0V of the I2C bus connector.

    The 0V line is the reference for the two I2C data lines which switch at logic levels.

    If there is resistance in the I2C 0V line between modules the 0V would be offset which could lead the data lines switching incorrectly.

  2. The MERG DCC accessory decoders still use 16v AC. The solenoid decoder/driver uses the rectified AC to drive the on board CDU.

     

    The newer MERG CBUS modules use 12V DC and the older modules can be converted to DC.   The 12V CBUS solenoid driver module uses a voltage doubler to provide about 22V for the on board CDU.

  3. DPD have just delivered -001 and -002

     

    I see from the receipt I ordered them on 18 August 2014

     

    And yes Dave, I did stop and I am now reading the instructions!

     

    They look great, well worth the wait.
