  1. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Baby 81! Forgotten how good it was especially 'Cold Wind' and 'Lien on your Dreams'!
  2. Had a wonderful walk over the Mendips today - great weather and splendid ales that followed!

  3. Hob Nobs at 6am! What a start to the day!

  4. Having to deal with quite a difficult emotional situation, thankfully not life or death! Just the wrong time for something ordinarily amazing.

  5. Wibdenshaw. No question. The most inspiring layout ever in my opinion. I hope that I have the skills, finances, capacity and wherewithall to build something as amazing as that layout when I retire. Alex
  6. Very tired, need an early night - my wife things I have an alterior motive though!

  7. That's one heck of a loco fleet there Arny. Nice weathering too.
  8. A home made fish curry using half price cod... and a pint of Abbot Ale - bliss!

Fish cooked in Beer sounds top...At Christmas in a pub, I had beer battered cod and a pint of extra cold Guinness to boot...

  9. Why does Lurpack 'Spreadable' have a mind of its own? It's the most disobedient of margerines/butters I've ever come across!

  10. Great pics Dave. Look forward to seeing your Coal 26 when it has come out of the WW works. I was looking at my Heljan Railfreight 26 the other day, just tidying it up and deciding whether to keep it as 025. I saw a pic of 026 in a colour album (might have been the Andrew Vines pictorial) with a 'yellow stag' sticker on the side and thought it looked great against the grey sides and yellow cabs. We'll see. The red stripe has been painted on mine now but will need weathering to tone it down as I used gloss instead of matt! My Large Logo 47 number-quandry has gone back to where it all started a year or so ago - 47644 'The Permanent Way Institution'. It was named in Perth on 8 June 1986, which happens to be my birthday! Have you thought about doing that one? Cheers Alex
  11. We lost our manager today. As much as I liked RDM, I can't help but feel a great sense of relief that he has gone. Michael Appleton will make a great caretaker manager. Looking forward to Big Sam taking the role full time!

  12. I have a plan. A new plan. A better and more exciting plan than previous plans! Can I make this plan work, six years in trying to plan and implement a plan?

  13. I'm having a spring clean. Which means half of my collection is heading for the classifieds! Will keep the postman busy anyway.

  14. That third pic looks superb. It's 80's all over, a Class 40 in the winter of its career, two tone blue Daf rig...and I'm listening to Ultravox as I'm typing this. Anyone for some Toffiffee...or a Cherry coke (edit)? Takes me back.
  15. Looks pretty amazing Grimley, the hard work really is starting to pay off.B)
  16. Yep we're having trouble lifting ourselves. Blackpool at home next weekend and I'm going up to it! I got Burton's shock result right but I didn't predict Dover or QPR's results correctly! Good job no money went down eh! Alex
  17. Hi Kevin I just checked back over the previous page of this thread and was very pleased to see a picture of one of my old favourite layouts - Exford. When I saw Exford in the mag, I was only 13 and aspired to own and run a layout just like that. I can see certain bits of inspiration carried over from Exford into Leaford. It would be great if you could bring that article to an exhibition when you show Leaford at some point. I want to try and get out and see more exhibitions this year. Would be great to have another look at the article and have a good old chin wag with you about it (and Leaford of course!). Just one other question, sorry if this has already been pointed out, but I'm interested in your gantry yard crane. Who makes it and what have you done to make it look so effective? Cheers Alex
  18. Hey guys and gals, the most anticipated weekend of the football calendar is upon us this weekend. Putting all league form aside, its your chance to forget about how bad your team is doing in the league and look forward to a potential run at the cup! (ok I can say that being a slightly disappointed Baggie!). Some interesting fixtures for the weekend. Banana skins for our good selves (away at Reading) and a few other Premier League sides. I hope we don't crash out. My money on the big shocks of the weekend are.... Dover beating Huddersfield at the Galpharm, second to that is Burton beating Boro at home and thirdly QPR taking Blackburn back to Loftus Road for a replay... And then there's the Last Bastion for Hodgson on Sunday, and Ericsson's stab against his old employers. Both games will end up in results that favour Mancunia I suspect. Looking forward to a couple of hours in the company of our favourite Hartlepudlian Geoff S (and crew) on Sky Sports!
