Proper job there Grimley. Those choppers look far too clean though.
Will the depot feature just loco's or will you be running wagons and units into the shed for maintenance as well?
-
Thansk Alex, I am looking to get some steel rolling stock as I've two trainload metal loco's with nothing to pull... I believe there are a pair of 37/9 due for release soon and also some BDA steel carriers, better get saving .... Also fancy some Bachmann TEA's for behing my Class 60. Have you got a layout on the go??
Regards
Leon
Hi Leon
I have started a small plank of a layout. It will be based in North Wales, beyond Ffestiniog on the Trawsfynnyd line majoring on the late 80's and early 90's. 'Bangers' and 'Nukes' will be the general traffic with some very limited passenger operations. I have started a layout thread http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/15496-wandering-down-the-conwy-valley/page__p__144536__hl__conwy__fromsearch__1&?do=findComment&comment=144536 but no photos as yet. Once I get the track down I will put some images up.
I'm going halfs with a chap from the forum for the Slug twin pack. I already have 37901 in original railfreight which was prepared for me by Bishopstoke Works. I'm having 905 to compliment it but I suspect that I wouldn't get away with both niner's in the Conwy Valley!
Cheers

Jeez, this is immense. Great effort.

Leon, this looks fab. really does give you the down and dirty industrial feel. The scale of the buildings and the generous spacing between the sidings/track all serve to set the scene here.
A Slug with a metals train would look the part here!

Hi Alex, Peak FAIL!! OMG Nooo!!. Sorry I am sure they did but I never had one fail on me. I don't have 40106 either but 40122 is on shed and booked to work out on the 18.35 1K38 to Stoke.
Ah, sorry 40122 will do nicely...and I'll wait for the Stoke instead as the Peak's failure was nothing more than a hoax!!!
-
Take your pick boys and get some haulage.
Cheers Peter.
I'll have the peak to fail and 40106 to come to the rescue with plenty of wheelslip as she tugs the whole consist out!
Great scenarios Peter!

Nice layout Hugh. Simple and effective.

Well Peter, a bit of gloomy North Wales in sunny Melbourne. You don't miss this country do you? Mind you, it's not bad here apart from that chilly (and gritty) northerly! I would quite like a 4mm model of a sunny Aussie layout just to make me feel warm and cheer me up!
Reg no for the yellow van - BAS 113R - Put a black screw head between the two 1's and you get an H! All at 4mm scale!
Sorry if I missed the plan but what's the deal with 47418? BR blue repaint?
Thanks for the photos!

Looking good there Grimley. I bet your looking forward to installing all the typical TMD features. Are you going for gantry's and loco lifts etc?
-
Cracking stuff Flood, a bit different to the 'typical' depot layout!

Thanks for sharing your handy work with us. I am quite inspired with this O gauge stuff - I use the word quite because if I admitted I was very inspired I would end up spending silly amounts of money on O gauge kits!. Besides, I have lots of OO gauge stuff and would find it difficult to part with it all if I was to switch gauges! I'm not sure wifey would let me do both... Maybe I will just lob everything I have OO-wise into a model shop that stocks O gauge kits and trade it all in!
On your website, I see you have some pics of PCA centre depressed tanks. Who produce those kits, are they metal and are they easy to build?
Cheers

Someone's been busy!
At least you will have somewhere to 'store' all of your 60s! Not WNXX-style though!

Hi Dave
Congrats on making the pages of Model Rail.
Had a flick through and the photography looks good. I'll read the article later tonight hopefully.

Cracking! Enjoyed looking at this one from the last forum.
I'm sure I have suggested this before Trevor but this would look good with large logo 37/4's, air braked speedlink wagons and the odd Sprinter (my 80's bias coming out again!).

Hi Peter
I actually think you've nailed this already as a terminus station and to change it would be a shame. Just my opinion!
If you wanted to vary it in anyway (i.e. if its a case that you're bored with current arrangements), how about extending the 'juice' from Crewe to allow a few Cans and Roarers to find their way unprototypically into Wales!!!? Now that would be a challenge to OHL the track without remodelling! You would probably need to ditch the semaphores though [tounge-in-cheek emoticon].
Whatever you do, keep those photos coming!

Evening Peter (or morning as the case may be down under!).
Thanks for posting some more pics. Keep them coming!

Hi there
Love the football ground idea. Like you say, just need a few supporters (and the smell of pies and bovril wafting from under the layout)!!!

I sold my Hornby 50's when I thought I was going Scottish - 004 in LL and 007 in green. I'm toying with the idea of a non-refurb one now though, preferably 025 in uncared condition! Would look great on a mixed freight - in a cabinet though sadly, no layout...yet.

This looks like a cracking model. Sure to sell well I would imagine!
