Hi all

I’m putting together a LMS breakdown train but am struggling to find any information on liveries for the individual vehicles, below is the formation with my guesses at livery in italics:

Brake van - LMS grey

Crane (inc. runner and relieving bogies) - black, red buffer beams, white head of jib

Water tank for crane - LMS grey lettered “water”

3 plank open - Bauxite?

Conflat - LMS grey

Packing/tool van - Bauxite

Riding coach- absolutely no idea! Bauxite? Black?

i can find loads of info for BR days but none for the pre-nationalisation era 🙈

Going back to the kit topic , I occasionally look for 7mm loco kits that have been abandoned and have , in the past , got some superb bargains. For example last year I picked up a LNWR precursor tank which just required painting and brake gear doing for a shade over £100. Took me 4 hours to get it into traffic.

One strange thing that I've noticed is when a 7mm loco is advertised,invariably it is complete but never with any brake gear! I've never been able to fathom this!

of course EBay now seems to be a quagmire of those with more money than sense...

Except,of course,when they're bidding on one of my auctions *fume* Maybe I'm too honest in my descriptions...
