Rails currently has several Dapol class 73s going at a little over half price, at £89.50 (U.K. price).

I need more class 73s like I need a hole in my head (it is there somewhere!), but I succumbed to temptation and ordered two from the later released batch, so there should be none of the electrical gremlins of the earlier releases. I have LL blue 73 126 and Executive 73 136 on the way now. The actual price for me here in Australia worked out at roughly £89 each - less VAT but with postage added.

Yes, I bought mine at the reduced price, bargain, runs so much better than the first batch

  2. Ive noticed an issue with the self fit Locking Bars on the Dapol High Cube Container Packs.

Assuming the fit is correct the actual locking mechanism on one side is higher / lower than the other side.

The moulded bars on the RH standard container appear to have been done correctly.

    How have others approached this.

  3. I have 37423 non sound, lovely model, but is the headlight over the cab independently controlled like on the Class 92, mine doesn't illuminate on F0, and I have no function list with mine.

So it's going to be a case of trying all the functions.

I know it was F23 on the Class 92, appreciate any help.

    Thanks

  4. Its quite fiddly but I found the easiest way to connect the wagons is to push and clip the bar onto one wagon, put them onto the track. Locate the bar against the pin on the other wagon and gently push the wagons together.

Agree, nicely detailed and run really well and smooth without wobble.

Anyway isn't this the 59 thread?

Absolutely right and I think Dapol have made a great Job of my 59206 in DB. All running sweetly so glad I went with the DCC fitted version.

Only 701 got a repaint in the original livery, but they updated the branding to use the later lettering style.

Actually, 66701 never got painted from it's original livery, just been going through Flickr, it also carried yellow Whitemoor plates like the Bachmann model when it was first released.

But your absolutely right in terms of the modification back from Europort, the band on the top is just within the blue section of the bodyside.

There are quite a few, especially the higher numbered one's when the imports were repainted.

    I think 781, 782, 795, 798 and 799 are.

That's the Europorte livery, it was repainted in early 2020 (IIRC) into the current GBRF livery.

Understand, there are a few GB 66's I believe that have been repainted back into the original GB livery.

Well, I am going to wait a bit longer in case there's a current livery 59003 appear. If not then it will be FL even though it's out of region. I'll just squint as it goes past and pretend it's a 66.

Did you mean 59003 in GBRf ?

    Aren't Gaugemaster commissioning this...

TTS decoders are only 8 pin so far but Hornby may announce something soon, HST ones are out of stock in most places but the are bargain Valenta ones to be had.

Most suppliers of full blown sound decoders e.g. ESU or Zimo  will be able to provide them with most interface types

I have purchased the 8 pin TTS set for thesewithout realising, apart from buying a 21 pin sound decoder the other option is to fit a 21 to 8pin adapter but there's not a lot of room above the socket.

  11. Surprised there is no aggregate spearmint livery, although I believe the Bachmann 66 in the same colour scheme hung around for ages, unless it comes as a special edition from someone.
