Has anyone tried fitting the Hornby TTS 08 coder out of the new model into the Bachmann version? I'm impressed from the sounds I've seen on youtube but the DB livery is far too new for my interest or layout so am looking to fit to my NSE version.

I have 56063 in it's unusual reversed triple grey livery, turns out it's too new era for me, looking to swap the body for a standard triple grey.

Lovely shot, is that a new S stock I spot sneaking in between the two?

Hi all, way off the topic of model railways but has anyone else joined Google+ yet? For those that haven't it's a kind of mix between facebook, twitter, flickr etc, really good for sharing things but unlike facebook you don't have to share with everyone, you can put people into circles and then share things with either everyone or just particular circles - eg I have circles for Friends, work colleagues, photography contacts etc. In my opinion it works really well, much better than facebook and you can share more than twitter, you can follow people in the same was as twitter too. It's still only in the testing stage at the mo so if you want to join send me a message on here with your email address and I'll send you an invite. Regards Paul

Well there already doing one of these in the NSE stripy livery 47573 as a special edition for Modelzone (already on order), I'm hoping Bachmann bring out a revised version as one of there own releases next year. They do seem to be a reasonable price at the mo depending what you go for. The brilliant Bachmann mk1's are still fairly expensive but Hornby mk2's are easy to find at a godd price.

Thanks for the info on the name plates, think I'll try the blu tack first and see how that goes. I can't praise the model enough, got it on the track last night and it run brilliantly, I've only got DC at the mo but will be getting a sound DCC chip for this model as it deserves it.

mine arrived this morning and looks fantastic. Looking forward to getting it out the box properly this evening and giving it a run out. I noticed the etched name plates are seperate so I'm assuming can be just stuck on top of the printed ones, anyone know a good way of doing this? Seems to come with plenty of options for adding on the ends including snow ploughs.

I got the email from them this morning saying 47474 would arrive within next couple of days which interested me. A couple of hours later got the email saying it was in stock....it was ordered within 5 mins! Have also gone for the next day delivery option so hopefully will be here tomorrow!
