Sorry everyone not read through this post fully but do we know what the Scotrail version is going to be and is their a large logo blue in the offering? Either way a very stunning model and congratulations to Bachmann for keeping it underwraps.

Help required with alternate numbers for Hornby Class 08
sharkman replied to sharkman's topic in UK Prototype Questions
I thought it was quite explanitary but i have rephrased the question. All I want to do is renumber the 2 two Hornby 08's to alternate numbers that are as close to the models, remembering also that the side tool boxes vary making it more difficult to get correct variants. Thanks Anyway -
I want to renumber the following green Class 08's from Hornby with numbers that are as close to the Hornby representation. D3509 GREEN late crest front ladder and chevrons on both ends, red con rod. (R2933) D3721 GREEN late crest, no chevrons on either ends black front and grills but no ladder and also strange brown driver doors with a green panel (was this the only version withat door?) (R2872) I'd be gratefull if anyone can help.

Thought it was time to start up loads again for the humble engineers wagons. Having a few Dapol Grampie, odd bits of sleepers, old track ballast and some vegetation all went into the mix as a load. Heres are some images of what can be achieved. Picked a kit built Cambrian OCA at a swapmeent for a princely sum of 3 quid which already had a load of sleepers, added a small amount of ballast and vegetation. Added a spoil load to a KERNOW turbot. My last variations for loads for the Kernow Turbot as I've a couple of the new Dapol models to try. There really easy to do and with a bit of imagination - and remember its your railway!

Now sorted!

At last a prototype that could be seen nationwide and never properly captured in model form.

Overall looks a good mix this year specially on the rolling stock front. Lets hope Bachmann continue the Scottish theme with more 47/7's maybe a large logo blue version?

Ballast - Coal released could have done with some the other day

At last the LMS/BR brake van has been re-tooled with the weight box underneath!!! Still wading through the site, looks good for modern image coaching stock.

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NOW MOVED THIS POST TO Modifying & Detailing RTR stock Thought it was time to start up loads again for the humble engineers wagons. Having a few Dapol Grampie, odd bits of sleepers, old track ballast and some vegetation all went into the mix as a load. Heres some images of what can be achieved. Added a spoil load to a KERNOW turbot. There really easy to do and with a bit of imagination - and remember its your railway! Here's a load for the FTG Models SPA in Network Rail livery - it does need some weathering but maybe not to much. My last variations for loads for the Kernow Turbot as I've a couple of the new Dapol models to try.

sharkman replied to James Makin's topic in Layout topics
Can i say Mr Makin that if these vehicles had'nt been photographed on a workbench you would be hardpressed to say they weren't the real thing - congratulations now must up my modelling skills now! I'm refering to your ZCA's and OCA's. -

Kernow OO gauge YCV Turbot Bogie Ballast Wagon
sharkman replied to Paul.Uni's topic in Kernow Model Rail Centre
Bought 4 of the Kernox Turbots from the Peterborough show and its a very fine model and comparing it against an unbuilt Cambrian kit the length, the angle and depth of the truss rods are exactly the same. The Kernow being slightly finer the only thing i don't like is the weathering I think they have over- sprayed too heavily blocking out the fine rusting blotches which i think should be heavier. Maybe they could correct this in later batches. Enclosed a couple of pictures of one I have done to include a spoil load of ballast and sleepers. -

Not had a go on here yet but I just came across this a Hornby Murdoch from Thomas the tank range at £265.00 and still 19hours to go. Can't remember seeing that loco if I had I should have snapped it up!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-Thomas-and-Friends-Murdoch-R9684-OO-gauge-damaged-parts-been-replaced/283253521022?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107084022%26meid%3Dee91735eb29c4e3ab448b407d85ec80f%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D113315034241%26itm%3D283253521022&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850

My "mitts" got hold of a DBSO today and the box flew open and some how the contents landed on some test track with a digital controller and could'nt help but play with the functions - oooooooh it so nice. Then i looked at the price and the friendly shop manager convinced me I needed one but some how the box ended up back on the shelf. I'm waiting for the Scotrail version which is next month.
