  1. Excuse the daft question, but what can I load my Bachmann steel highfit a with? I’ve been trawling Flickr and can only see empties - similarly, the only load on Paul Bartletts site I can see is some wooden crate in one pic.

I’m modelling BR mid 60s period for these.

    Thanks!

I’ve already suggested Siphons to Revolution to produce in partnership with Accurascale as they did with the Cemflo.

By the way, you can easily lower the 37 body if you dispense with the cab inserts—there’s detailed instructions somewhere on here or on the N Gauge Forum.

I know and I’ve done it! But I’d rather not have to. There are many other things wrong with the Farish 37, and untapped potential in the DRS mods, slugs, car headlight versions - just off the top of my head. Plus endless livery variations!

Stood next to the 31 and 40 from the same stable  you can tell there is a decade’s difference IMO.

Definitely Mk2 coaches but NOT Class 37, does not need another retool and/or another version, the current GF version (aside from a couple of different ends being required) is perfectly sufficient.

Really? Be fair, the Farish 37 has been knocking around a few years and lacks much of what is expected from new models. Not least a decent ride height and shape! It looks poor in comparison to the more recent Farish 40 which is excellent.

There’s more than just a couple of different ends to the variants Accurascale are doing in 4mm too. I’d love to see the same upping of standards in N gauge.

Oh and Fran… provision for drop in 2mm finescale wheelsets would be a bonus too!

I’ve decided to bid for the national lottery licence when it next comes up. The new game will be everyone in the country, all 70 million people, will be given a rake of Dapol wagons and anyone who can run it around a layout twice without it either derailing, uncoupling in random places, spontaneously bursting into flames or otherwise, will win the jackpot. The odds of winning will be lower than the current game of course...

Have you tried magnetic hunt couplings between the wagons at least? That’s the best option for the JNAs I found.

    Evening Everyone,

This will most likely be my last post of this year. My Class 33 has now been sold & it's replacement has arrived today in the shape of 31423 'Jerome K, Jerome' in it's BR Mainline livery. Really lovely loco it is too & I really like this livery!

I've still got enough 'Banger Blue' loco's in my collection for the needs of the layout, but a splash of colour is always great!

Here it is arriving at Shrewford with the 1452 Regional Railways service to Manchester Piccadilly (Ex Cardiff) and is seen approaching Platform 4

Shame this release wasn’t Mappa Mundi to really set the scene!

  6. This blog article comes up every so often, it’s nice to know it’s helpful! Unfortunately the photos are long gone, snapped on an old phone. I’ve just checked the NGF and a couple of Facebook groups I thought I’d posted them too but no luck.

Next time I have a 37 to do I’ll take more pics!
