  1. Thanks everyone. Very interesting! I would love to get hold of some cellulose paint, I use an airbrush in a very well ventilated shed! Where do you source yours Ian? Cheers Simon
  2. Thanks, it looks just right to me, I'll have to get down to Halfords!
  3. That's very nice, thanks. What colour did you use? Cheers Simon
  4. Hi Ian, it's a 4mm Spinner, I'll spray it. What do you use for Midland locos? Cheers Simon
  5. Hi, does anyone have any recommendations/favourite paints for Midland red on a pre-grouping Spinner? Cheers Simon
  6. Hi Davey, thanks for the reply, I've got many a stalled project stacked away in the railway room. In fact last week I did a wee bit more work on a lovely Connoisseur B12 kit, which according to my notes on the instructions, I'd last touched in 2016! I think it was the curved footplate that had worried me. Sorted now. The reason I asked you about your H1 is partly because I'm unsure about the tender. And also; I don't know if you're aware of the Gauge O Guild's series of online videos called "An Evening With...". NIck Dunhill has a number of scratchbuilding presentations which feature him building an H1. He'd asked for suggestions of what he might build and went with my interest in an H1. If you feel like a little inspiration to unblock your stalling you may find them useful...they are, anyway, very educational and entertaining! Here's the first one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_L9wrvy_EEY&t=4898s Regards Simon
  7. Hi Davey, I hope you are well. Did you continue with your H1 project? Cheers Simon
  8. Hi, can anyone tell me a source for holders for locos etc whilst airbrushing. I'm thinking of those sprung tongs that go inside the loco body? Cheers Simon
  9. Thanks Roger, this has a very useful explanation of how the thing actually works! I particularly appreciate the separation of the controller board and capacitors to provide extra space options. Cheers Simon
  10. Thanks both very much for your help. I'll try hard not to have anything go bang! Cheers Simon
  11. Hi, could anyone explain, very simply and preferably with pictures(!) how to wire up a Staco 1 controller circuit? Particularly with very little knowledge about these things, how do I find the negative and positive terminals on the Goldcap capacitors! Cheers Simon
  12. Thanks Frank, love the spring and washer cobo; looking forward to fitting one of those on this! Cheers Simon
  13. That's astonishing, and quite beautiful Frank, congratulations. Do you use any side control or springing on the front pony truck? Cheers Simon.
  14. Following with great interest! Cheers Simon
