Really disappointed with Bachmann - apparently my new 57 that went Pete Tong after 5 mins was not from a registered dealer hence warranty isn't covered.

The retailer I bought it from apparently purchased it from a Bachnmann approved supplier. I have no way of knowing this hence when I bought it I presumed it to be new (particularly based on price). Therefore when it went wrong I returned it to Bachmann as per the warranty instructions. Then told my original post and have to pay for repairs. Have contacted retailer who is following up direct with Bachmann to retrieve my 57 and will be arranging my money back or replacement.
