  1. We do have a Nowhere Lane near us- maybe it's the road to No Place!
  2. More top work from Colin! One of my Christmas presents, a Union Mills D16/3, arrived after being bashed in the Christmas post with damage to the tender. A quick call to Colin yesterday and a replacement tender body arrived today! Wish all customer service was this efficient!
  3. I was at Whitemoor yard yesterday and two GBRf 66s were side by side allegedly in the same new livery- every shade of everything from blue to orange to vinyls was slightly different, despite both being new paint jobs! Ah well, all the more for Bachmann to release...
  4. The A3 is very, very tasty! Couldn't quite make it out on the vid but is the speaker in the cab? Also, where is the speaker on your 2MT? Thanks in advance!
  5. More excellent work as always! Any chance of some more vids soon? It's been a while...
  6. Hi guys- I had a couple of people ask questions about the high output train so I knocked this up. May be of interest to you! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/85605-high-output-track-renewals-a-typical-night/ Ian B
  7. Fantastic! Leaves us wanting more though so keep them coming!
  8. One of the best ways to settle her down is to fire up my sound fitted locos and run them round. She happily watches them and gradually nods off!
  9. Love the guards van view! Very inspirational modelling. Oh, and my 6 month old daughter finds it fascinating too!
  10. Again I'll see what I can do but it's only on site from around 2200-0500 so it's through darkness! Pm me your email and I'll see what I can get...
  11. Apologies mate- I've been shifted off working on these this weekend and onto the High Output track renewals train next week so won't be able to get any photos! Will try next time I'm on with them! Ian B
  12. OK- if there's anything specific you want just let me know!
  13. I'll see what I can do but may be easier for photos next week when I'm on days! I need to go to Toton next Friday to check the consists so it should be a perfect photo opportunity!
  14. Sounds good! I've not had a problem with wheels attracting but if the metal pin has been too low I've had a couple of wagons (and my 03!) pull wheelies!
  15. I'm working with these at Flitwick this Sat and Sun nights so if there's anything specific you'd like to know give me a shout! Hopefully more successfully than last time when one had to be dragged back to Toton at 25mph on a wheel skate due to flats...
  16. If you don't need to propel stuff after they have uncoupled I'd go for neodymium magnets instead of the Dapol ones. They are easy to retro-fit and disguise and mine are now totally reliable! I think the ones I got were 2mmx3mm ones from eBay. £7 for 100 and you only use 4 at a time so good value too. There's a couple of phots on my Jedburgh layout topic if you're interested!

    DCC Sound Videos

Quick vid featuring my original farish 37417 fitted with a Zimo MX648 and Mr Chetter's sounds, along with directional lighting. Also featured is my non-sound 03! Filmed on my work in progress layout 'Jedburgh'. Hope you like! Ian B

Thanks Paul, very kind! I think the true main difference is in the running qualities! It's tight and delicate work but with quality decoders and a smooth loco it's well worth the effort regardless of scale. N gauge locos are catching up to OO now and if you can drive an n gauge loco slowly and smoothly sound is very viable. Nice to see companies like DJM taking it seriously and planning for sound chambers to be fitted! Ian B
  19. Beautifully told story! Loco hauled daytime services are to return again this summer with a 57 hauled Par to Exeter and return service...
  20. With space for a speaker- 'bout time in n-gauge and makes it even more tempting...!

    DCC Sound Videos

Never posted a vid on here before so here goes! This is a vid of one of my n gauge locos off my layout 'Jedburgh'. It was originally a Farish china earlier-type loco but has been repainted in large logo as 37413, it's fitted with a Zimo MX648 with Paul Chetter's sounds and I've also fitted directional lighting and Dapol easi-shunt couplings. I took this vid after relocating the speaker from the body to the fuel tank but, truth be told, there is little or no difference in sound quality or volume. Hope you like!
  22. An even littler decoder?! Are these generally available yet- they don't appear to be on Digitrain's website yet. Oh, and yes please- second dabs on the wiring diagram!
  23. Pretty straightforward to fit easi-shunt couplings to non-NEMs. Just remove the coupling and spring, open out the slot in the coupling box very slightly and the Dapol couplings twist into place. Dab of superglue and jobs a good 'un! So far all of my stuff runs fine with the short arm couplings on 2nd radius curves and setrack points...
