Hi Mophead,
Here are a few links to youtube from around 1989-1990. I could be very easily tempted to model this era but going to resist and stick to 2001.
Cheers
Simon
Those videos are brilliant lots of easily modellable trains must resist the urge .... 2001 is more of my era my dad taking me on trips out to warrington and crewe good times

Thanks, I have always liked AC electrics aswell, I am tempted to model an 86/4 and 87 together on a steel coil working from the late 80's as a one off!
Cheers
Simon
Well if your models are up to the same standard as the 86 and 87 I look forward to seeing them unfortunately I'm a bit too young to remember the steel coil trains only ever seen pictures but always looked fantastic!

Having a look at paul bartletts excellent wagon website I've seen a few mineral wagons in internal use at queenborough that seem to be loaded with scrap?

Hello
I'm currently planning a small scrap yard shunting layout based around the early 80's and wondering if there would be any need for any internal user wagons ? And what type be in use if any ?
Many thanks

Supers work Adam been watching your thread since the start amazing work, impressed with your coil j conversion just ordered a iron tippler wagon to convert myself after seeing your work, What colour did you use for the body on your coil j wagon? Humbrol Chocolate? As I can't make my mind up between using humbrol paints or tamiya?
keep up the great work!

Good shot of 071 Jo.
Great news to hear that the 60 fleet is on the up. I wonder if 60099 will emerge in a new coat of paint? And if so what colour?!
Does anyone know if 099 has had any refurbished parts added as it seems to have been worked on for a while? Or is it just a patch up and return from store?
If today’s TOPs report is correct there are 4 Brush Beasts at Peak Forest, must be a while since that last happened! I presume 39 must have an exam coming up and needs replacing but not sure if 84 is the same. That may explain it, perhaps someone on here can confirm.
60039 was working 6m22 hunslet-tunstead on friday 24th wasnt sounding to healthy when it set off from the loop at marsden
