  11. Morning ,just a bit cautious about using the supplied power supply that I have read can cause voltage spikes , and with dcc sound equipped locos being expensive to replace the decoder, so am asking if anyone uses an alternative that is a bit more robust then a small plug based transformer, apologies if I didn't explain myself more clearly.
  12. Does anyone use a smoothed power supply for their dcc layouts ? just a bit wary of using the standard plug in transformer that comes with the set .
  13. Thanks Rob it really was a privilege to see you artistry in the flesh ,and not just photos on here ,as I said it didn't need movement it really is a picture on its own ,! Top modelling and having the eye to see a standard gauge use for the slate engine shed is superb, will stop and have a longer chat next time I see you out and about in the Principality ....Just a bit miffed there were no bacon n egg banjos and brews available at "the rink"...maybe next year ,will have a word with young Brian of this parish ! 🙂
  14. Great to see your layout at the show today Rob it really is art ! and thanks for confirming my theory on Bachmann 08s !😄
  15. I am still amazed that they dont at least put a board with a phone number on to call the dispatcher to ask permission to cross, at these high speed remote crossings, or if no cell coverage to put a landline phone there . bit late for those that have lost their lives in this terrible accident .
  16. Superb film thanks for sharing !
  17. Copied from Minerva website (hope Chris doesn't mind !) We have to report that when the Class 14s arrived yesterday, we saw that, despite our best efforts, the cab colour that we modified from the decorated sample was still not correct. It still has too much green to match the prototype we are seeking to accurately model. We briefly considered whether it was close enough, but have decided not to release the models in their current livery. Minerva has always endeavoured to offer accurate models and we hope that you understand the reasons for our decision. It is frustrating for all of us, but we believe it is the right thing to do. Our factory are going to produce replacements as soon as possible, and as the cabs are only secured by four screws, allowing them to be lifted off to fit crew, it is a straightforward task to fit the new cabs. We hope to have the replacement cabs in about 8 weeks, but will update as and when we have definite information.

  21. I have both systems ,But I have relegated the prodigy to a back up, the NCE is more use friendly with its multiple throttle choices ,ie push button or thumb wheel and ease of programming decoders . Also my prodigy sometimes forgets who it is so I have to unplug and use button 6 to tell it who it is !
