  1. Another bunch of engineers trains through Sandbach station today from Northwich and the first was 66732 (GBRf The First Decade 1999-2009 John Smith - MD) on 6G50 1100 Northwich East Junction to Bescot Up Engineers Sidings with Jim at the controls.
  2. I'm usually in another world thinking about other things, usually wishing it was friday and wondering where i was heading off for my overnight walk.
  3. I knew I would catch you working through Sandbach one day. Mathew
  4. Here is 66305 after DRS had taken over 301 to 305, I only ever saw 66304 on a coal train passing through willington. Be nice to have a limited edition.
  5. I may need to order a few to re-create this as I was at Crewe station when 8 of them were to transfer from W H Davis to Crewe Gresty Bridge. 07-02-2019 37407 and 37403 hauling 11-70 9229 018-0, 019-8, 023-0, 024-8, 025-5, 026-3, 028-9, 030-5.
  6. Here is a rake of 16 heading up to Corrour behind 66738. 01-04-2019. You heard it for a good 3 minutes before you saw it coming as it had a standing start at Tulloch due to the Caledonian sleeper had passed to Fort William behind a single 73. Mathew
  7. No era to be honest, I just like a steel train to have a 60 or a 56 on it or stone train to have a 60 hauling it. A friend does have the saying, it's my layout and I'll run whatever I want.
  8. Can I be the odd one out in saying that I have 17 Loco's and not 1 loco is a class 66. I have 2 Class 08, 5 class 37, 4 Class 56, 1 Class 60, 6 Class 68 and on order are 1 Class 92 I don't find the 66 appealing whereas the 56 and 60 have more layout appeal. Mathew
  9. Ever realise that no matter what you do, it's never good enough and sometimes you just have to be a little $#@€ to get your point over before they understand that they screwed up!

Whichever takes your fancy, but it's mostly work

  10. Just had a play with my 2 JSA open wagon, Smooth running, perfect in every way, Just had to order another 3 packs and hope they arrive by the week-end. They will look great behind a DB60 or a industrial shunter in a plank layout. I don't know if I want to add the white clamp bars or not.
  11. I need to sell the wife and kids to pay for all of these new wagons ! ! ! Or do more work and overtime. Aaaaaarrrrgh !!! Mat
  12. Only social drink on a saturday.
  13. Whisky for certain, K key is a bit stiff...
  14. My other hobbies are photography, Whishy (Scottish only) and vexillology or the study and collection of flags. Currently at 150 country and county flags. Mat
  15. I work in parcel distribution and I know the feeling all too well, I delivered a parcel yesterday that was sent on 23rd December from Nancy, France and has only just got to Cheshire today and that's mostly down to the customs problems at the channel tunnel and some due to brexit too. The normal road time is 3 days. Customs are a pain at The moment but they are getting better if not slowly. Mathew
  16. I'm doing some BTA's at the moment but cannot figure the proper measurements for then, what are the measurements for the stanchion.
  17. Evening all, Possibly the best looking 90 around and not to work in its current livery. This loco and two others in the same colours were supposed to have gone to Wembley. However. 90026 didn't leave as planned due to paperwork and other issues so it was up to 90020 to lead 82227 and the GC coaches and 90029 at the rear on it's journey to Wembley for warm storage.
  18. For clarity here's the Network Rail ones I saw at Crewe station.
  19. One of each Caledonian Sleeper and G.B.R.f. version please, I've been waiting for this loco for years and finally my telepathic communications have been answered. Hooray.
  20. If you are after real beer north of the border, I went to a place in Kilmahog, The Lade inn is a restaurant and real ale shop and was a discovery by accident, Me and the family went to stirling and decided that Kilmahog would be a good day out and Doune castle was on the way (Used in the pilot of Games of Thrones and it's the castle in Monty pythons Life of Brian) http://www.theladeinn.com/index.php
  21. I collect whisky so here is part of my collection and some of them are what I drink, I've been venturing into Swedish and Irish whisky all of which is very nice.
