    Turns out I am s*** at soldering, that's three peco points into the bin!! Back to the drawing board and do I really need to do all this just to run my trains!! Thinking about giving it all up :-(

      New tip, a lot thinner seems to work ok. Done three points now alright :-)

      Sausage fingers and impatience!! Going to try a thinner tip tomorrow maybe some thinner solder? :-/
