  1. I cannot find the answer on the forums, but please redirect me if I've missed it...

    I am trying to find a history of locomotives on the Reading to Guildford, North Downs Line, in order to model it correctly - and from a personal nostalgic point of view.
    As I child of the early sixties i can vaguely remember steam locomotives but travelled to school on the Class 206 'Tadpole' DMUs (and the one Class 33 'express' a day).
    Can anyone give me detail of what steam locos I would have seen on the NDL in the early sixties please?

  2. Ranelagh (if the same as Lord Ranelagh and Ranelagh School) is pronounced Ran-er-la  (Ran as in did a run / err as in a pause - erm without the m / and la as in 'la a note to follow sew' but more often said as le in French). I always assumed Ranelagh Bridge depot was the same.

  3. Another benefit of having a Hastings unit would be the possibility to create a tadpole unit using the 2EPB driving trailer.

    Yes indeed. And there are people in here who will post till the cows come home about a single millimetre and sometimes even less and usually with good reason. if a "207" was produced with standard body profile it would look very wrong just for the sake of that millimetre. It has to be "Restriction 1" to look right and I'm not even going to begin counting the rivets tongue.gif

     

    Having travelled to school on a Tadpole on a daily basis I can vouch that the width restiction has to be visibly different in any scale to make it realistic. If you want a Tadpole (as I do) it appears DC Kits are re-igniting their 3R kit unit.
