Recently I have found that card is also a good medium for roofs, especially 6 wheelers

There is also the shamefully neglected tin plate as well.which is easy to shape and holds it well.Didn't pre-grouping coach roofs have stretched canvas on them as well?

I use an aluminium coach roof from a PC coach kit as a former for plastic roofs, otherwise the same method

Try taking the PXX out of the circuit completely. It could be that it is too sensitive for the inrush of current

I have added tender drive to several of my pre-grouping locos, which are too small for decent motors to be placed conventionally.I have used units from Hollywood Foundry in Australia, who enable all wheel drive and use of a fairly big Mashima motor. These are far better than the old tender drive mechanisms, which gave this method of drive such a bad name

A quick and easy way of getting your 6-wheelers to run through fairly tight curves is to remove the flanges off the centre wheels. No one notices and it is a whole lot easier and quicker than making a Cleminson chassis.
