  1. Two different seller IDs - interesting...

There are a few booksellers who operate like this on ebay, I once bought 2 different books from what i thought were 2 different sellers, paid 2 postages, and they arrived in the same parcel!

    :fool:

  2. It seems that Rails is now attempting to join the ranks of our friends Gostude and co, they used to start stuff off at 99p and let stuff find its own level, which always seemed a little high to me anyway, but now everything is top price and sometimes with dubious descriptions. They mustve seen the profits mr Gostude is making!

  3. I've posted these joint efforts elsewhere but this forum is more relavant. Buildings are my thing and much prefer an urban layout to a "countryside" view (as nice as some of them are!). Here are 2 of my efforts, albeit not finished. But the cinema is huge so no wonder really.

A bit late but..... reminds me of The Odeon at Scarborough, not identical but has the same look/feel. Excellent.

  4. Our friend in Cartmel has a number of items ending shortly that say qa at the end.  This is a new one on me.  Anyone know what it's meant to say? Quality Assured? :boast: Quite Attrocious? :scratchhead: or what?  Qintars Accepted (Countdowners will know what I mean) :jester:

Once again, "mint" but weathered by someone, and has smoke deflectors that need fixing back on!

  5. Harry Welch's on Church Street in Preston, probably the first model shop I ever went in, aged about 10.  When that closed we had Trains & Transport near the railway station, I forget the name of the side street, but it was off Fishergate.

I too remember Bradford Model Railway Exchange on Mosley Street as I used to work round the corner in Portland Street for many years.  I seem to recall it closing down very suddenly.

    Paul

Charnley St, Preston. That was the smallest shop EVER! But always had something to buy.

He had a big, I mean BIG, pile of RMs at i think it was 10p a pop, I took loads off him whenever i went in.

  6. This guy's depressed with recent feedback according to his listing, and wants £23.67 for this Mainline coach.  (They seem to have been varying a lot lately from £2.50 to £10 a pop, but £23.67?)

And his anger about it seems to get ANGRIER AS THE DESCRIPTION CONTINUES.

Ah, collectors' value. Fair enough - they'd have gone straight in the skip!

Nice one! Totally agree with you.

  7. Know that feeling! I think ALL of my saved searches now feature "-container" in the search bar. Doesn't get rid of all of them, but does improve matters.

Didnt realise you could do that, thanks for the tip.

  8. One thing that totally gets my goat (polite version) is the ebayer who enters multiple items in completely the wrong section. Thus when I'm looking in Dapol OO gauge I do not expect to find lots of this stuff. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Atlas-n-gauge-rolling-stock-NEW-/350708493410?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item51a7daec62 If this clown posts items in other scales, you need to beware of his terminal incompetence!

Whatever I search for, I usually get loads of card Container kits, yeah you too eh? so now Ive resorted to searching with a minimum price of £1 so i dont get all of the 99p containers.  :nono:
