  1. Whilst driving out of Southampton this evening and passing the stacks of containers in the port (some stacks are x7 containers high). I did wonder if there were any Revolution HOA’s in any of those containers. Lol…
  2. I had a little operating session late last night. Had a little experiment to run all my sector era trains on the layout (x14 trains, just one lap), and to see how long it took me (also had x2 freights stop in the up loop to allow trains to pass). The whole thing took me 19minutes and 5 seconds. Great fun
  3. Very excited to see that the HOA’s are on the high seas and expected Mid April. I can’t wait to get my hands on these and get them on the layout.
  4. Guess which one is GBRf and DB? Lol…. Taken as a screenshot as we passed by
  5. I don’t think we did a team photo, which thinking about it is a real shame. The depot at Peterborough is amazing, the letting is so big, unbelievable. Maybe Bachmann will do it as they have done the single DB one, which is about a mile away.
  6. Not much to to with Wyvern Road, but yesterday myself and a bunch of RMWebbers set of to have a day chasing the Class 91’s, before they disappear. Kings Cross to Doncaster then back to Peterborough for the afternoon and then back to KGX. Riding 91130 & 91106. It was a fantastic day out and lots of interesting traction to Observe.
  7. The Police are after Del Boy for the “In the Post” sticker over the car tax and parking in a disabled bay. Very naughty
  8. Just read the article in the BRM. A great article and fantastic photos. I have enjoyed reading your articles on how you built your slice of the WCML in model form. David have you any plans to take it to any Exhibitions or is it just a stay at home layout?
  9. I just took a picture on my iphone of the original print. Don’t have time in my life to scan all the pictures that I have. Maybe that’s a job for when I retire or go part time (but that won’t be for another 10 years or so).
  10. I wonder which rmweber this is? Lol…
  11. With thoughts of the good old days on the Thames loco hauled on these recent pages. I thought that I would trawl through some old pictures to see what I could find (excuse the quality, it was a long time ago).
  12. It’s funny how personal paths intertwined through life. At least we have those cherished memories.
  13. Thank you. 50031 Hood is one of my favourite Class 50’s. Used to love seeing it between Oxford and Paddington in the mid 1980’s (fond memories). But on WR it lives on as part of the DCWA pool.
  14. Some pictures that I took earlier and some that I forgot to post a while ago. My good friend John Harding has done a cracking roof weathering job around the exhaust stacks on my x2 Provincial (Express) Class 158’s (just taking the newness away). In 1990, these units would be fresh from delivery and pressed into service to replace the first generation DMU’s and Class 156’s which had in turn replaced Class 33’s with Mk1 coaches a few years before.
  15. Hi Folks, On Page 19 of this thread I mentioned my good friend Steve Jones was building a model of Fairwood Junction (just to the west of Westbury). Unfortunately Steve does not do Rmweb, so there is no layout page on this forum. The layout is now finished and will soon be on the Exhibition circuit (think the first show is Calne in the Spring). It will also be at the Great Electric Train Show at Milton Keynes in October. Mike Wild from the Hornby Magazine came over during the week to take some photos (for an upcoming article), Steve asked if I could assist (and bring a little extra stock), which of course I was happy to do. A couple of my pictures from on the day.
  16. A traffic flow that doesn’t exist on the railway in 2024 is the movement of Household Coal. Back in 1990, Wyvern Road had its fare share with two very different types of train. 56106 in the old Red Stripe Railfreight livery heads a rake of HEA empties from Warrington towards South Wales. This train is the longest of my 1990’s collection with x24 wagons. The other flow is Household Coal for Export to Ireland. 37796 heads a lengthy rake towards Ellesmere Port on Merseyside.
  17. Those Yeoman JHA’s look spot on. Just like the ones we see everyday.
  18. It’s been over a year since I posted on this thread, and Melangoose’s last outing was at the Warley/NEC 2022 (which was a great Exhibition helped by Nick and Geoff). Very sad to hear that 2023 Exhibition was the last, and definitely the end of an era of fantastic NEC shows organised by the Warley MRC. A couple of pictures included that I did not post at the time. 37672 shunts at the Clay Works Keeping the public Entertained
