  1. In reply I don't like the look of buckeye couplings on freight stock as most of British freight stock had three link, instanter or screw couplings. Some of the newer stock has a type of buckeye coupling. But it's your stock and you can put any couplings on it. This link should help you decide if you want to use Kadees ,this link should take you to the O gauge couplings, but you may want to have a look at the S gauge ones as well. 2. I don't know if it's me but something looks wrong with one of the number 8s , it's going to be the first one is high or the last one is low. When I used to my own paint jobs I would draw a pencil line under or above the numbers so I could line them up on the loco / tender / tank side, if you wanted you could also add a vertical line at the number centres to get the spacing correct. ATB OzzyO.
  3. Thats not a big hammer it's only about 11/2 - 2Lbs you want to see a 35Lb flogging hammer. ATB OzzyO.
  4. Just got my dropheads from Ellis Clark Trains. A sort of mini review, the size is to my eyes just about spot on. On the first one I tried to drop it was a bit hard (not because of the instructions) but I think a bit of moulding flash in the drop head. But after I gave a bit of a wiggle it worked. The springing for the opening jaw is not on view. Score 9/10. Will I buy more YES. A photo showing the ECT coupling and a Kadee #805. ATB OzzyO.
  5. It could have been blow you sir. As in a raspberry Coat and hat on and the door closed behind me, and I heard the locks been thrown. OzzyO.
  6. Forget the trip pin it will look daft and or get in the way when the buckeye is in the dropped position. Also, how often do you shunt coaches? I want them so I can change the front or rear coaches in a rake. ATB OzzyO.
  7. No I had to fill up my card (I begged, borrowed and stole to get the money [I did not revert to mugging]) as my pension is not due till the end of the month, but with a bit of luck I'll get them today or Monday and show them fitted to my Pos that I'm building from a J.L.T.R.T. kit. ATB OzzyO. 😭😭
  8. Hello all, spotted this on the ECT website now to get the card full of money. ECT Drophead Buckeyes now in Stock! (mailchi.mp) ATB OzzyO. PS. sorry about this but I can't past the direct link to the news page on ECTs.
  9. Just had a message from a mate of mine about these and it's sounding good. Yours, OzzyO.
  10. What are you saying or not saying?
  11. Hello Chris, any news on the drop head buckeye couplings? A friend of mine will be at Warley show if you have my order, he could pick them up. Yours, OzzyO.
  12. I like the idea of the hollow axles, three points not all black 5s had them and the second point the hole looks a bit on the large side, the third point the return crank did not have a hollow fixing, most if not all of them had the stander L.M.S. four bolt fixing. The only one that I have of without the standard L.M.S. four bolt fixing is 44767 this has what I would call the L.N.E.R. style of return crank. OzzyO.
  13. I'm not sure if the RSPCA would like you wiring up two pups for the septic tank? OzzyO.
  14. Do you have any updates on the drophead buckeye coupling as one of the last posts that mentioned it was round about 11/8/22 OzzyO.
  15. Hello Bluestag, if it's due to the axeboxes dropping too far down and letting the springs "out" you could just use a bit of plastic card on the horn keeps stopping them dropping too far down. OzzyO.
