  1. Where the blazes is the 2022 wish list poll?

No link, no pop up, the search is as baffled as I am. The thread has been closed to further comments too. I'm off to bed.

      Thank you! Done and submitted.

  2. YouTube is starting to fill up with reviews of the same TT120 Scotsman pack.

    Arghhhhh

All this investment by the trade in TT will only mean more shortages of basic OO scale stuff, like right hand turnouts, track joiners, spare couplings, fencing. All their bread and butter items. You only have to watch Hornby's YouTube channel to understand where their young marketing minds are at. We're doomed.

  3.  Have you seen this site Felix. Lots of cool 0 scale stuff.

Hi Felix. That is a great model idea. Just love that!

I spotted their church kit on a small layout watching Youtube this morning. It's already top of my Christmas wish list🤭

Raining hard here too, so I've been getting into loco building. An ex-Midland 2-4-0 from a Ratio kit, with tons of extra detailing.

There's nothing like a bit of modeling to calm yourself. It's not been a good week.

  4. Botulism? Where the hell, did we get botulism from.

Mrs. S. thinks it might have been some home canned plums. She definitely has it worse. I felt fine yesterday, better than Tuesday's 100.9 fever. If it is Botulism we might make it onto the world incident map. Lets just hope that's not my "10 minutes of fame".🙄

  5. Anything between 4" and 100" of snow forecast for our region over the next week depending on elevation.

Prepare for traffic problems they said. (Interstate 5 was a bumper-to-bumper nightmare in this afternoon's deluge) So looks like we're just gonna have to "Hunker down" for Christmas.

We had 4-5 inches last week and it was chucking it down during the night. There's plenty of snow above 3000' and I read somewhere Lassen National Park is expecting over 8 feet. We need some snow pack, bring it on I say!

Also: on the border of Vlaanderen and Wallonia dividing the province of Brabant! Can be tossed in olive oil and old bay seasoning then roasted for about an hour in a covered dish. Beste met  stoofvlees, potaten krokettjes en een vlaas Westmalle Duppel . Smakelijk.

  8. This is supposed to be a hobby, not an obsession.  So why have I just spent two hours trying (and failing) to find out how far up the walls of the cowhouse I'm making the tethering rings should go?

    1. Sasquatch

      Sasquatch

It's a downward spiral from here on out if you have nothing better to do than worry about cows rings!

  10. Feeling right royally down this evening - I have a call tomorrow to look at some software development, I have a ready made solution to the problem I will be faced with but there is another way to do the same thing and I am attempting to get my head around it.

But can I get it to return even the most simple dataset as it should do - no I cannot, spent two days, seen some progress but not enough.

Sometimes I feel like I am a total failure and my imposter syndrome is banging all the drums it can muster at present to make me feel much worse.

Hopefully, now I've said this out loud I will knuckle down and sort it.

Don't understand one word about data but then I remember I'm only human. Life can be one big learning curve so bear that in mind. If others can do it so can you!

  11. The carpet monster has officially driven me insane with its insatiable appetite for 4mm scale buffer shanks.

Luckily I have a supply of spare Cambrian coupling mounts so will procure another bottled ale from the cooler and slice a pair of replacements.

I did get rid of the carpet and put in nice hickory flooring. SWMBO went and brought a rug (you know what women are like for soft furnishings) Needless to say, the carpet monster is getting it's own back!

What is truly bothering me is that the content of  pop up ads on here correspond with that which my wife browses on her phone.

I did tell her about the super glue to which she replied I didn't know IPA was a glue and proceeded to help herself.

  15. Not sure that the Carpet Fairy will accept blame for the tin of Evo Stik missing in the railway room. The search did turn up a tub of Cascamite I lost about two years ago.

Carpet Fairy? Sounds like a gay Carpet monster if you ask me.

  18. Our new cat Scatoosh has just acquired a taste for poinsettia.

  19. I have just found out that 5ltrs of nato green paint is enough to paint 5 lightweight landrovers. 4ltrs left, I might paint the lounge.

    1. Sasquatch

      Sasquatch

SWMBO wouldn't let me paint the lounge nato green unless I suggested she could choose any colour she liked except Nato Army Green.

Try Zap-A-Gap and Bodge Podge. Buth thoroughly recommended.

They'd be better off bringing back the LBSCR. Less embarrassment due to journey times having not improved since the glorious Gladstone days.

  22. On the basis that you cannot be both, would you rather be happy or would you rather be right?

    1. Sasquatch

      Sasquatch

Surely it depends on what is a stake. For instance: She's always right which makes me happy. When I know I'm right she's not happy. So I get what you mean captain you can't have both!

  23. Feeling chuffed after stripping down the motor of a Mainline J72, cleaning if, figuring out where all but one of the little bits should go when reassembling and then finding the whole thing runs as smoothly as modern models.

    1. Sasquatch

      Sasquatch

There's me thinking the Mainline J72 was the first of all modern models?
