Looks like it will make final landfall in eastern Queens. Worst winds 80 - 100mph east on Long Island, heaviest rains up to 12" in New Jersey. Seem like the very worst effect will be felt in North Carolina and Virginia but they do not have 20m people in the immediate area.
Batten down the hatches and stay safe then Pete. And please get this sort of thing out of the way as my daughter will be heading for the Maryland in a few weeks time.
