Now you have mentioned the CJF booklets there are a couple of plans that spring to mind if you have the booklet.

In 'Track Plans' (I have 2nd edition from 1974) plans P7 and P8 are two that might be worth expanding as you have much more room.

P7 has 2 running circuits for passenger, and a third circuit that serves as a goods relief.

P8 has 2 running circuits for passenger, another circuit for goods. Also a 4th relief line which forms a half circuit to link the station with the loco shed area.

Both plans would let you leave two trains running while you either shunt the goods, or move locos to and from your shed area.

    Good luck whatever you decide.

    cheers

You can buy digital copies of the Peco track plan books on Pocket Mags

  2. My Dapol 121 Railcar I fitted with their Imperium decoder, with my gaugemaster express I am able to switch one cab light on with F1 and the carnage light with F3, these two keys are displayed on the handset and stay on but when I press the F2 key the other cab light only comes on and then goes out when the key is depressed. Also F2 is only displayed on the hand set when the key is pressed.  I have tried the F0 key but it has little effect.

Could it be a fault with the handset.

  3. I recently changed my print subscription to digital because of a subscription offer in the April Hornby Magazine, imagine my annoyance when I could not access the new Key World Website. The Hornby Magazine went on to say that existing Hornby Magazine subscribers join for free, but to gain access you need a customer ID which you do not have with Pocket Mags, only a customer number which is longer than than the print version subscriber which the Key Model World does not accept when logging on.

I tried again today to long on from the link in the digital version without success !!

  4. I also recently put a Hattons 8 pin four function decoder in my new Heljan Hymek and cannot get the lighting to turn on, I am using Gaugemaster Prodigy express the motor works fine just the lights. Was considering removing the body and seeing if there are any switches that have been turned off.

  5. You need to click the watch later symbol on the video  (providing you have a Gmail account ) best if you view the magazine in google chrome. Go into YouTube and you can watch the movie in full frame. Also cast to your TV (by your phone), mine works on Now Tv and amazon fire stick.

  6. As I subscribe to the digital edition, could cancel my paper subscription and only buy when there is a free gift worth having. Easy to download the videos from the digital edition and then burn to DVD or memory stick

How much did you pay for your subscriber offer? Did you receive any gift/offer when you took it out?

My gift was no longer available , brought a copy from W H Smiths with the laser cut kit , considering canceling subscription as always the subscriber misses out.

  8. I've also got a DVD that doesn't work. I tried copying it to the HDD as well using Handbrake (this often picks up incompatibilities), but it said no content was available to read.

How do I get a replacement?

Same here did not work with Handbrake would not copy the files.

  9. If you contact the BRM team via this link:

    https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/brm/competitions/wheres-my-dvd

Someone at Warner's will either send you the weblink or stick a DVD in the post to you, gratis.

I post this with reluctance, as I feel that some on here may well abuse this offer by requesting a DVD without purchasing the magazine.

But that wouldn't be smart or clever, it would be a pretty scummy thing to do.

On the flip side it offers genuine customers an opportunity to view the DVD content. Kind of a win-win situation?

Thanks for the link on page 81 it says how to get the DVD but as usual has not been proof read, the web address just goes nowhere, again us subscribers loose out, how can it be cost effective different editions.

  10. Recently ordered the Peco catalogue by post went onto the PECO website £2.00 postage, Rails of Sheffield £4.00 postage !, ordered from Gaugemaster not only was the post free but to my amazement the package was tracked. Receiving a text message from Royal mail on the day of delivery and also another one to say it had been delivered. Excellent service Gaugemaster although the service was called economy there was nothing economy  about it.

  11. Hi All,

My Bachmann class 47 'Sir Daniel Gooch' in GWR 150th anniversary lined green livery arrived yesterday courtesy of Cheltenham Model Centre - thank you.

I haven't had a chance to chip it yet or add the front end detail or even apply any weathering (light dust brake to the bogies & exhaust stain to the roof) but thought I would share an image here.

    Enjoy.

Mine arrived yesterday as well, very nice model, have a TTS sound chip waiting to be fitted.

  12. Sounds like it!

Long way around. Open on the iPhone, add to a watch list in youtube. Then you open the youtube app on the iPad and it's in the list.

I have the same problem on my iMac and the only way is to add to watch later, when are they going to sort out the terrible sound !

  13. Recieved mine in the post this week disappointed  at the banner on the front saying free 60 min DVD when in fact it is only 36 min. Poor value for money considering the publication is padded out with full page adverts and photos very little text. Suggest the publishers take a look at the Build a Model Railway publications from Model Rail. Much better value at £4.99 more text with better photos.
