How nice to see the headland from the beach, though I must say I thought there would be quite a crowd there

to see the reopening. Well done David you have kept this old Dover Shark and all the other thread followers

well up to date with events as they unfolded. An outstanding labour through all weathers.

You have turned into quite a good photographer doing this record mate.

There have been some nice wildlife shots in with the Railway works.

I think the 73's look much better than the 66 engines, They are a link to a better railway that I grew up with.

The work on the beach is certainly progressing well. I also picked up a copy of RAIL for the centrefold picture today.

This film is really accurate with regard to just about everything. The footbridge even has the correct colour.

I had quite forgotten about this little film, I downloaded it when it was first posted and simply forgot all about it. Looking at

 it again the plan is a work of genius.

Very bleak the fog and darkness, the pictures do show this really well.

Speaking for myself and your other thread followers I am sure, you deserve a medal for all your efforts following this mammoth work.

The channel looks very choppy outside the Breakwater.

Well all I can say is" I much preferred the Marine when it was a working Station and Port".

I find all this Terminal business a bit of a disappointment. I realise we have to go with the

times we live in however...moan  moan  moan.....

That's a very impressive monument on the Marine Station, I remember it well.

Very different view of Hawkesbury minus the junction. There used to be a whole shunting yard, the "Ferry yard" also Lyons siding. But I digress

 great progress on the beach and it looks as though the new footbridge wont be too far away.

Has anyone worked out what the sign is on the old Dover Town station roof?

Martello, Shakespeare and Abbotscliffe Tunnels

My word that's a new one on me David, a most interesting read. Was this going on at the same time as the job we have all been following?

There is an article called "REINSTATING Shakespeare CLIFF" in the magazine 'RailEngineer' for October this year. Lots of pictures taken from a Drone and  an interesting article explaining what went on. You can only get this magazine on subscription on line and it arrives monthly by post. However WWW.railengineer.uk will put you on the mailing list.

I have no connection other than that of an interested Railway Fan so I pass this on with my hope other like minded souls will enjoy the content.

Watched both of your films David, the doctor mentioned in the Hazel and the Twins. Dr Tolland was my family G.P. when I was growing up.

Also when on the relief my Father worked all the boxes through the warren. Most interesting.
