Good evening, everyone, and thank you, Adrian, for posting those photo’s of Flying Scotsman from what is probably Escrick on the then ECML. Hopefully someone can confirm the exact location of the photo’s, but it sounds like it is just north of where the former station was.

Now, this evening we go to Scarborough, courtesy of another photo’ by Graeme Phillips on Flickr, and can see, on platform seven line, a class 104 DMU. It has probably worked in from Hull for those services used number five quite a lot back then. The train to the left is a class 110, with the lower height of the windows either side of the connecting gangway of the TSL being a good clue, and to the right are some Mkl carriages on number eight platform line. A busy scene on a day in about 1970 - unfortunately no date is given.

Best regards,

 Rob.

One or both of the DMUs in the image must have passed through the current mess room area of the East Yorkshire bus depot that is currently sited on the "throat" of the former lines to platforms 6-9 and the adjacent sidings.

I remember exploring the platforms whist changing trains after a day spotting at York in the late 60's early 70's, there was quite often a couple of open wagons in one of the platforms, labelled to work between Scarborough Station and Barlow Tip, i had no idea where it was back in those days and now 50 or so years later i live about 5 miles from Barlow Tip. Which is now a nature reserve created by covering the tip in thousands of tons of soil after asbestos had been found, thought to have originated from York Carriage Works.

One wonders what is buried there, a good friend of mine who knew an ex Selby driver told him when Selby Shed closed in 1959 everything went in open wagons to the tip.

Good evening, everyone. Firstly, EddieK, I know you are right about those trains having passed through what is now the messroom  area for the East Yorkshire bus depot.
Now, this evening, we stay in Scarborough, and go back in time to the 6th March, 1965. Courtesy of another photo’ by Graeme Phillips on Flickr, we see a hybrid two car DMU, on that last day of services to Whitby. It is formed of a class 108/2 DMBS, and a class 101/1 DMCL. From Whitby the unit would then reverse and go on to the destination of Middlesbrough.

Something a little more up to date now, an MPV passing Seamer SB a few days ago.

Note, video in total was taken by motion activated camera so as not to interfere with my duties in the box.

Good evening, everyone, and thank you, Boris, for that video of that MPV at Seamer. Now for this evening we stay in Gilberdyke and watch a class 123/4 hybrid DMU taking to line to Goole, from Hull, in April, 1984. The formation is class 123 DMSL, class 123 TCL, class 124 TBSL, ex MBSL, and a class 124 DMC at the rear.

Good evening, everyone. This evening, courtesy of Syd Young on Flickr, we go back to Hull, and see, from a Beverley to Hull train, on the 26th May,1978, 31316 running into a rather full Botanic Gardens Depot. This view is no longer possible since the lineside is completely overgrown.

Good evening, everyone. This evening, thanks to a photo’ from the KDH archive on Flickr, we go back to Gilberdyke sometime in April, 1984, and on it’s way from Selby, possibly originating in York or Leeds is a two car class 101 DMU, DMBS, and DTSL. Note the man stood in the cab next to the driver.

Ian, "Halt for one moment", I may have photographed it, I'm unsure, but may be still in use. Yours, Mick.

Thanks Mick, thought it might be but wasn't sure.
