Psiborg
JUBILEE ROAD WAGON WORKS MAY 2016 - PLANNING Planning started on a wagon works layout the same size as the previous "Annesley Woodhouse" layout. It would, again, use two boards 4ft 11in x 1ft 3.5in giving a total length of 9ft 10in. First version of the plan Spun the plan around to view from the other side bringing the yard to the front After thinking about the backscene, I decided to use one of the ID photographic backscenes (the Distribution Depot one). This would mean that the road bridge wouldn't look right so it was replaced by a footbridge. Thanks for looking Psiborg Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos

Psiborg
AUGUST 2016 After track-laying was completed, wiring and test running commenced. All ran perfectly, including the Kadee #309 electromagnetic uncouplers which had been fitted under the track. During testing i built the control panel with yellow toggle switches for points and red push buttons for the uncouplers Next was the construction of the hard-standing. I decided to try Andy York's method of using cork tiles up to the sleeper ends and use fab foam (a Hobbycraft product now called Foam Sheets 22.5 x 30cm) to fill in the remainder I sprayed suede effect paint over the hard-standing and once this had dried, I then alternated spraying grey primer and white primer until I was satisfied with the colour and effect Psiborg Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos
Psiborg
GANTRY CRANE I used the Knightwing kit as the starting point and added the angled supports and cables before weathering it BIFFA SKIP Scratch-built from plastic sheet. Here are some pictures of it under construction and one with packaging dumped in it WHEELSET DELIVERY I used a plain white Oxford Diecast cab and switched a couple of parts with another cab. The trailer chassis is from an Oxford refrigerated trailer with a plastic top glued on as the flat bed here is a view of the finished model Thanks to everyone for the likes, more updates to follow Psiborg Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos 16

Psiborg
Thanks for the kind comments guys PORTAKABINS I used two of the Knightwing kit of the double stacked Portakabins. I haven't detailed the interiors as I will not be fitting interior lighting to these The single Knightwing Portakabin kit that is painted in EWS maroon and does have a detailed interior. This one will have interior lighting so the detail can be seen. Psiborg Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos
Psiborg
SEPTEMBER 2016 - SHEDS I wanted the two sheds on the layout to be in different styles, so the 'right' shed is a standard brick and cladding style small shed The 'left' shed is a more modern design like the pictures shown of Bescot and Doncaster Putting the bits together were starting to get somewhere now... the 'right' shed with a few extra details around it the 'left' shed Psiborg

rob D2
Brilliant atmosphere. Are you going to exhibit it ? I'd be really interested to know how you made the curved DBS shed, as I'm contemplating something similar, but not sure how to proceed.
Psiborg
Brilliant atmosphere. Are you going to exhibit it ? I'd be really interested to know how you made the curved DBS shed, as I'm contemplating something similar, but not sure how to proceed. Cheers Rob I've got a few bookings coming up for Annesley Woodhouse but nothing so far for Jubilee Road. Hopefully it will be getting invites soon, the main problem is i work weekends so I have to book holidays to appear at exhibitions - I would like to appear at more! The curved shed i built as a mock up initially but it looked good enough to keep, the first thing I did was make a scale drawing of the end and when I was happy with the dimensions I cut two out from a sheet on 2mm plastic sheet Between the two ends I glued three strips of 2mm plastic sheet for strength. Two along the upright sections of wall and one across the top (you can just see them in this picture) After this was solid, I glued on the thinnest plastic sheet I had available to one of the wall crosspieces and let it dry. I then applied glue around the top of the ends, laid the thin sheet flat and 'rolled' the ends over it to fit the sheet over the shed After that was dry I glued on a sheet of South Eastern Finecast FBS413 profiled steel cladding (the same as used on the other shed, but used inside out!) It was primed inside and out to stop the lights showing through when they are fitted and after and hour I resprayed the outside with white primer. It looks better now as it has been weathered, keep an eye out for that in a future update Hope this was useful Psiborg Edited July 2, 2017 by Psiborg
